Possible disadvantages

  • Limited Information Availability
As a specific niche tool, there may be limited independent reviews, documentation, or community feedback available to fully evaluate its reliability and feature set.
  • Potential Feature Limitations
Aggregator-style platforms often provide simplified versions of tools that may lack the advanced features or customization options found in specialized standalone applications.
  • Dependency on Internet Connection
Being a web-based service, functionality is likely dependent on having a stable internet connection, unlike offline desktop tools.
  • Data Privacy Concerns
Using an online tool for code snippets, data formatting, or other developer tasks may raise concerns about how sensitive information or code is handled, stored, or transmitted.
  • Uncertain Long-term Support
As with many smaller developer tool platforms, there's uncertainty about the longevity of support, updates, and maintenance compared to established, well-funded alternatives.
  • Auto-generated structured interview guides
tailored to the job in one click, every interviewer asks the same questions.
  • Independent scorecards with locked scoring
interviewers submit before the debrief, no one sees another's score until they've submitted theirs.
  • Side-by-side interviewer score comparison
see deltas across the team for every candidate immediately.
  • In-app live video interviews
guide, resume, and video in one view, no tab-switching or third-party tools.
  • Candidate pipeline with bulk actions
move candidates through stages and send batched updates without spreadsheets.
  • Customizable email templates per stage
pre-built for invite, advance, and reject, all editable.
  • Candidate scheduling / calendar booking
    built-in screening and interview booking.
  • Candidate profiles with resume parsing and filtering
central record per applicant, searchable shortlist.
  • Shared team visibility
recruiters and hiring managers see the same pipeline, scores, and feedback in real time.
  • Job posting and applicant capture
the table-stakes ATS layer, deliberately minimal (no 40-stage workflows, no drag-and-drop builder).

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing DeveloperToolStack and Oryx.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Oryx's answer:

the first or only HR/People person at a US SMB of roughly 20 to 300 employees, sitting between 5 and 15 open roles, with hiring managers who refuse to follow a process and a CEO who wants faster, better hires without buying Greenhouse.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Oryx's answer:

Bubble.io I Next JS

What's the story behind your product?

Oryx's answer:

How a failed hiring service became a SaaS product

The problem we kept seeing

I've watched good companies make bad hires over and over. Not because they didn't care, but because the hiring team walked into interviews without knowing what they were actually looking for. No structure, no alignment, no consistency. Just vibes and gut feel. The result: rough candidate experiences, misaligned expectations, and mis-hires that cost way more than anyone wants to admit.

We tried to solve it as a service first

Before oryx was a product, it was a hiring service. We called it HaaS, Hiring as a Service. We ran structured hiring processes for SMBs end to end: interview guides, scorecards, hiring manager alignment, the works. It worked. Clients got better hires. We got early revenue. But services don't scale. Revenue was inconsistent, delivery was time-intensive, and we hit a ceiling fast.

The pivot nobody planned

At some point we realized our clients weren't just buying outcomes. They were buying the process we'd built in-house. The interview guides, the scorecards, the way we got hiring managers to actually agree on what they wanted before talking to a single candidate. So we asked a simple question: what if they could just use the tool directly? That was the moment Oryx went from a service to a product.

What Oryx actually is

Most ATS tools are built around pipeline tracking. Move candidate from applied to interviewed to offered. That's it. We built Oryx around the interview itself, because that's where hires are won or lost. Structured interview guides, scorecards, and hiring manager alignment workflows. A professional hiring process without the enterprise overhead. It's for SMBs, companies with 20 to 300 employees who are serious about hiring but don't need (or want to pay for) Workday.

What makes your product unique?

Oryx's answer:

Simplicity, UX, structured interviewing process built into customizable workflows

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Oryx's answer:

Value for money - by far the most cost effective, with very fair pricing that is not difficult to follow, or forecast.
