I found a gardening web site on a search that shows the date 2005-2008 at the bottom of the page. Clicking on "blog" takes me to an error page, so clearly it's not active. But it's run by Solas Web Design which describes itself as "Media & Internet, Data Collection & Internet Portals". The URL says datanyze.com. Though I do not register at all on the leader board I will sometimes work obsessively on a problem just to make one of the level icons light up for me. I do hobby programing. It is sometimes to create something (supposedly) useful. Lately though it is more discovery and a little math like. I enjoy Project Euler (https://projecteuler.net/.
