We're commonly doing this with logging, using services such as Loggly or DataDog. We're using managed databases, be it on AWS, Heroku or database-vendor-specific solutions. In search of a program like ScreenCloud that allows you to display messages, alerts, weather, time, etc. But also allows you to set alarms to indicate start/break times and interrupts the regular flow of information on the screen to display a message and play audio before returning to the regular display playlist.
