We're commonly doing this with logging, using services such as Loggly or DataDog. We're using managed databases, be it on AWS, Heroku or database-vendor-specific solutions. Do you have any error reporting? Something like Sentry or Google's error reporting. Direct customer feedback can be great, but it often doesn't paint the full picture and doesn't give you technical details that help narrow down the issue. At the very least, you should be asking your customers who are providing feedback to tell you which browser and operating system they are using—a lot of the time this is enough...
