Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing databooq and forms.app.

What makes your product unique?

databooq's answer

Capacity is enforced at the database, not counted after the fact. Every seat claim is checked server-side and pushed live to everyone watching the form over WebSockets, so a form literally cannot oversell โ€” no race conditions, no manual reconciliation after the fact. Most form builders treat capacity as a number you check afterward; databooq treats it as a guarantee.

forms.app's answer:

forms.app stands out by offering unlimited team members, unlimited responses, and all 30+ form fields on its free plan. It has powerful features, a clean interface, a smooth form-filling experience, and accessibility. forms.app is the whole package that teams can use for free.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

databooq's answer

Typeform and Jotform are built for collecting answers, not for holding a limited number of seats โ€” capacity, if it exists at all, is usually a soft counter checked in the browser. databooq is built the other way around: the seat limit is the primitive, and everything else (calendar invites, reminders, waitlists, self-service cancellation) is the booking loop wrapped around it, included free. It's also EU-hosted in Germany and GDPR-native by design, not retrofitted, and free while in beta with no credit card required.

forms.app's answer:

  • forms.app is easier to use than other form builders and offers unlimited seats and form responses.
  • forms.app offers both one-at-a-time and list view layouts.
  • forms created with forms.app offers a better form-filling experience, thus getting more responses.
  • The platform is secure and has a robust infrastructure: for example, you can collect up to 100k responses per month without requiring a custom plan.
  • It has the most generous and complete free plan that allows unlimited form responses and team members, while some other form builders offer neither, even in their paid plans.
  • forms.app has integrated AI features, such as AI form generator, AI form importer, AI question helper, AI choice generator, AI insights, and AI response translations.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

databooq's answer

Anyone running an event, class, or activity with a hard capacity limit: schools splitting students across workshops or field trips, community groups and clubs managing sign-ups, small teams booking limited slots for training or office hours. The common thread is a real seat count that has to hold, not just a form that collects answers.

What's the story behind your product?

databooq's answer

A school I know had to split roughly 350 students across about 10 different one-day activities every year, using whatever free tool was on hand โ€” Google Forms or Microsoft Forms. Nothing stopped one activity from getting 200 signups while another got five, and the export was just a flat list of 350 rows that someone then had to sort and rebalance by hand, every single year. I offered to build them something that actually enforced the limit instead of counting it afterward. That fix worked, and it's the reason databooq exists.

Best form tool weโ€™ve tried so far

We needed professional-looking forms for our events and for getting inquiries. After trying many tools, we decided on forms.app. It is way easier to create forms, and we find it the best form tool in terms of aesthetics. There are some others where forms look good, but they were so expensive, we couldnโ€™t believe it at first. Overall, we had a nice and reliable experience with forms.app.
