Yes. There's a reason that https://darkreader.org/ has 10 million+ installs while no inverse extensions even exist to my knowledge. Yes. I have Dark Reader[1] on by default for all websites and only disable it when it activly breaks a site, or a site has a suitibly dark theme and Dark Reader thus flips things the wrong way. If a site is borked to the point that Dark Reader can't fix it, I'll use reader mode or just go somewhere else. Your site looks just fine to me. Capture2Text is FOSS. It uses Tesseract as it's OCR engine, which is great as you can use different language data files to find the one that is the most accurate for your purposes. Source: over 4 years ago
Capture2Text is the simplest solution and it works surprisingly well with the Cold Steel/Hajimari text boxes... Once it runs in the background press a previously assigned hotkey and select the area on the screen to be captured. I recommend deactivating its popup window, you just want the text to be copied into the clipboard. Source: about 5 years ago
