I have my own eBook library hosted with copyparty. It is a single binary. Runs on plain files. And speaks OPDS for integration with Koreader, Readest, or other devices. https://github.com/9001/copyparty#opds-feeds It also speaks webdav so I can quickly sync everything via rclone to an SD card to slap into a device before travel. I really like the convenience of flat files and multiple protocols. - Source: Hacker News / 3 days ago
You need copyparty, nothing else https://github.com/9001/copyparty. - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago
IMHO, there's a better answer to any thing you like about FTP. For simple stuff, TFTP seems... fine? I've never looked under the hood, but I'm pretty sure it fixes the really bizarre choices in FTP. For everything else, either SFTP or HTTP seems to be the rule. For moving files around between machines, I've become quite fond of https://github.com/9001/copyparty over http. - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago
Jellyfin is nice but I could never understand how to setup when all I wanted was to watch videos from server for example. So I used copyparty[0] and used VLC and set a username and password. I recommend copyparty if you just want something quick and easy actually. Just try it out on cheap VPS and just run it and forget it. https://github.com/9001/copyparty. - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago
