Hackyard is a hackathon built for one person, not a team. Each Yard has a single theme, a capped roster, and one week to ship, and the winner is picked by a peer vote, not judges or sponsors. Vote counts stay hidden until voting closes, so it can't turn into a follower contest, and the gallery is reshuffled constantly so every build gets seen. It's free, and any AI model is welcome.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Most hackathons are team events with judges, sponsors, and long timelines. Hackyard is solo, one week, and decided by the builders themselves, so it fits around a day job. Every build gets its own page and share card, badges carry across Yards, and it's free to join. It complements platforms like Devpost rather than replacing them.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Indie hackers, solo developers and designers, and anyone learning to ship with AI tools who wants a deadline, a theme, and an audience for what they build. No team or pitch needed, just one week.

What's the story behind your product?

Hackyard.tech's answer:

Hackyard was started in 2026 by Hixon, a solo builder who wanted a hackathon that fits one person and one week: no teams, no pitch decks, no judges. The first Yard ran in August 2026, and Yards now run twice a month, with themes like No accounts, Backlog, and One Screen.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Hackyard.tech's answer:

Next.js and TypeScript on Vercel, Supabase for the database, auth, and storage, and Brevo for email. Each build's share card is generated on the fly with Vercel's OG image renderer.
