I'm not sure if your 4.5yo is old enough to try Scratch[1] but nothing is too young these days. My elder got into Scratch around that time. My four year old was kicked out of his preschool class, and the school recommended I set him up with applied behavioral analysis. With the years of experience on JDs, most companies are trying to guestimate the amount of handholding you'll need + how much you'll be able to start doing day 1. I'd say you're well within the ballpark to say you've got 2 years experience. Generally companies ask about years , and people tend to round.
