As a Spaniard living in four different countries, I struggled to understand what my U.S. Amex Platinum and local policies actually covered, especially when renting cars in Europe. I often defaulted to buying the “peace of mind” bundle, overpaying simply because the fine print was confusing. After researching credit card benefits, insurance exclusions, and regional laws, I realized the real problem was coverage clarity.
