Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing CoConstruct and MakeLesson.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

MakeLesson's answer:

A modern cloud-based web stack

What makes your product unique?

MakeLesson's answer:

  • Full interactive lesson in 30 seconds. From a PDF, a photo of a textbook page, or one line describing the topic.
  • No editing skill required. Just ask for what you want. The lesson comes out looking designed.
  • Submissions come back checked. You open the list already knowing who struggled.
  • Miro integration. Embed a live, auto-graded lesson straight onto a board.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

MakeLesson's answer:

  • No manual setup, exercise by exercise. Every exercise arrives configured with the correct answers already filled in, ready to share instantly. In other tools you type that in by hand, one exercise at a time.
  • Start from what you already have. A PDF, a photo of a textbook page or a scan becomes a lesson, so you are not rebuilding your material from scratch.
  • Multi-speaker dialogues. Built-in text to speech gives every speaker their own voice, so listening practice takes minutes instead of a recording session.
  • Miro integration. Embed a live, auto-graded lesson straight onto a board for online lessons.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

MakeLesson's answer:

Teachers who lose more time preparing and marking than teaching, and who do both themselves.

  • Private tutors setting homework between one-to-one lessons
  • ESL and other language teachers working from textbooks, PDFs and handouts
  • Online teachers whose students work from a phone
  • Language schools

What's the story behind your product?

MakeLesson's answer:

This started with me being a student, not a teacher.

Printed handouts drove me up the wall. Writing answers into gaps too small for my handwriting. Getting a digital copy and finding there was no sane way to edit it. Every set of materials seemed to need a different tool, so half the work was fighting the format instead of doing the exercise.

My school had no digital approach at all. None. So I started asking teachers what actually got in their way, and built a first version around what they told me.

A lot of iterations followed. Then AI got good enough to change what was possible, and the interesting problem stopped being how to make one worksheet easier to fill in. It became how to let a teacher take whatever material they already have and turn it into something students can just open, do on their phone, and send back already checked.

That is what MakeLesson is now.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

MakeLesson's answer:

The customers are:

  • ESL and other language teachers, mostly working one to one or with small groups
  • Teachers of young learners, which is why no student account is required. Children should not be signing up for anything, and parents should not have to sign them up either
