Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing CloudShell and WhenFor.us.

What makes your product unique?

WhenFor.us's answer:

  • Nobody needs an account. Not the organizer, not the participants. The link is the whole product.
  • Built for the group chat, not the desktop. Most people open a scheduling link on their phone from WhatsApp, Discord or iMessage. The availability grid is designed for a thumb, not a mouse.
  • The answer is visual. Everyone's free times overlay into a heatmap, so the best slot is obvious without reading a table.
  • Nothing to clean up. No ads, no upsells, events delete themselves after they're over.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

WhenFor.us's answer:

  • vs. When2meet: same idea, but it works on a phone, looks like it was made this decade, and handles time zones.
  • vs. Doodle: no account, no paywall, no ads, no "upgrade to see results."
  • vs. Calendly / Cal.com: those are for booking one person's time. WhenFor.us is for finding when a group is free.
  • vs. LettuceMeet / Rallly: comparable features, with a cleaner mobile experience and five languages.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

WhenFor.us's answer:

Anyone who has to get 4-15 people in the same place at the same time: D&D and board game groups, bands, sports teams, study groups, volunteer coordinators, families planning a dinner, and small remote teams scheduling a call across time zones. The common thread is that they organize in a group chat and nobody wants to install an app or create an account for it.

What's the story behind your product?

WhenFor.us's answer:

Built out of frustration with the existing options: When2meet is unusable on a phone, Doodle keeps pushing paid plans, and everything else wants a login before you can do anything. The goal was a tool you can hand to a group chat and get an answer back from without anyone asking "what is this and why do I need an account." It launched in October 2026 and will stay free and ad-free.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

WhenFor.us's answer:

  • Vanilla JavaScript frontend, no framework
  • Server-rendered pages with per-language subfolders
