ClipWise turns whatever you just copied โ€” text, a screenshot, or a voice note โ€” into clean, finished writing with one click, system-wide in almost any app.

Most people who work with words run a stack side by side: a grammar app, a translation site, an OCR utility, a dictation tool, and a clipboard manager. ClipWise folds those everyday jobs into one lightweight tray/menu-bar app on Windows and macOS โ€” no browser extension, no ecosystem lock-in.

What it does

  • 13 one-click AI actions โ€” 10 text (Rewrite, Summarize, Translate, Clarify, Fact Check, Structure, Action Items, Shorten, Expand, Draft Reply) + 3 image (Extract Text/OCR, Describe Image, Summarize Screenshot)
  • Voice notes โ€” record up to 60s, get a clean transcript, then chain Rewrite or Translate
  • Screenshot capture โ€” region, window, or fullscreen, feeding straight into OCR
  • Local clipboard history โ€” persistent scroll-back stored only on your machine
  • Selection actions โ€” a floating icon on selected text runs an action in almost any app, without stealing focus
  • 21 languages, including right-to-left Arabic and Persian

Choose your AI

Managed AI (Google Gemini) works out of the box โ€” sign in, no API key. Or bring your own OpenAI or Anthropic key, or run fully offline and free with local Ollama.

Privacy

History never leaves your device. A 21-pattern detector keeps passwords, API keys, and tokens out of history and away from any AI provider. BYO keys live in the OS keyring. Authenticode-signed on Windows, notarized on macOS.

Pricing

Free forever at 10 actions/day. Light $4.99/mo ยท Plus $7.99/mo ยท Pro $9.99/mo ยท BYO-AI $29.99/yr.

An everyday alternative to running Grammarly, Google Translate, Wispr Flow, TextSniper, and Ditto/Paste side by side. The specialists go deeper on any single job; ClipWise wins on breadth at the point of copy.

ClipScript App features and specs

  • AI-Powered Script Generation
ClipScript App leverages artificial intelligence to help users quickly generate scripts for video content, significantly reducing the time and effort needed to write scripts from scratch.
  • User-Friendly Interface
The app features a clean and intuitive interface that makes it accessible to both beginners and experienced content creators, requiring minimal learning curve to get started.
  • Time-Saving for Content Creators
By automating much of the scriptwriting process, ClipScript helps YouTubers, TikTokers, and other video creators produce content faster, allowing them to focus on filming and editing.
  • Multiple Content Format Support
The app supports generating scripts for various types of video content including short-form videos, long-form YouTube videos, and other social media formats, providing versatility for creators.
  • Customization Options
Users can adjust tone, style, length, and topic parameters to tailor the generated scripts to their specific needs and brand voice, giving them control over the output.

Possible disadvantages of ClipScript App

  • AI-Generated Content Limitations
Like most AI writing tools, the scripts generated may sometimes lack the personal touch, creativity, or nuance that a human writer would bring, potentially resulting in generic-sounding content.
  • Limited Free Tier
The app may have restrictions on free usage, requiring users to subscribe to a paid plan to access full features or generate a higher volume of scripts, which can be a barrier for budget-conscious creators.
  • Relatively New and Niche Tool
As a newer and more specialized app, ClipScript may have a smaller user community and fewer reviews available, making it harder for potential users to evaluate its reliability and long-term viability.
  • Dependence on AI Quality
The quality of output is heavily dependent on the underlying AI model, and users may experience inconsistencies in script quality, requiring manual editing and refinement before the content is usable.
  • Internet Connection Required
As a web-based application, ClipScript requires a stable internet connection to function, which can be inconvenient for users who want to work on scripts offline or in areas with poor connectivity.

Analysis of ClipWise

Overall verdict

  • I don't have verified, up-to-date information about ClipWise (wrenio.studio) specifically, so I can't confidently confirm its quality, features, or reliability. It may be a newer or niche tool that isn't well-documented in my training data.

Why this product is good

  • No verifiable independent reviews or documentation found for this specific product
  • Unable to confirm claims about features, pricing, or performance
  • Recommend checking the official website, user reviews on platforms like G2, Trustpilot, or Reddit, and looking for independent testimonials before committing

Recommended for

  • Users willing to do their own due diligence by testing a free trial or demo if available
  • Those who can verify claims directly with the vendor (e.g., via support chat or documentation)
  • Not recommended to rely solely on this response for a purchasing decision without further research

Analysis of ClipScript App

Overall verdict

  • ClipScript App appears to be a niche tool aimed at converting video/audio content into text scripts, useful for content creators who need transcriptions or captions, though as with any lesser-known tool, users should verify current features, pricing, and reviews before committing since I don't have verified up-to-date data on this specific product.

Why this product is good

  • Likely offers automated transcription of video or audio content into script format, saving manual effort
  • May support caption or subtitle generation for social media and video platforms
  • Could provide a simple, focused tool rather than a bloated all-in-one suite, making it easier to use for a specific task
  • Potentially affordable or offers a free tier compared to larger transcription services

Recommended for

  • Content creators who need quick video-to-text conversion
  • YouTubers or podcasters needing captions or show notes
  • Social media managers repurposing video content into written scripts
  • Users looking for a lightweight, task-specific tool rather than a full video editing suite
  • Individuals who should independently verify reviews, pricing, and reliability before subscribing

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing ClipWise and ClipScript App.

What makes your product unique?

ClipWise's answer

ClipWise puts AI where you already are โ€” your clipboard. Copy text, capture a screenshot, or record a voice note, press one shortcut, and get it rewritten, summarized, translated, OCR'd, or transcribed right where you're working, in almost any app on Windows and macOS.

Three things set it apart:

  1. Breadth at the point of copy โ€” 13 one-click AI actions (10 text + 3 image), plus voice notes, built-in screenshot capture, and local clipboard history in one tray app, instead of five separate tools.

  2. Choice of AI engine โ€” ClipWise Managed AI (Google Gemini, no API key), your own OpenAI or Anthropic key, or fully offline local Ollama. No competitor offers a managed no-key path AND bring-your-own AND local.

  3. Privacy built in โ€” clipboard history never leaves your device, and a 21-pattern detector keeps passwords, API keys, and tokens out of history and away from any AI provider.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

ClipWise's answer

Because it does the everyday version of five jobs in one place, on both Windows and macOS.

Most people who work with words run a grammar app (Grammarly), a translation site (Google Translate, DeepL), an OCR utility (TextSniper, PowerToys), a dictation tool (Wispr Flow), and a clipboard manager (Ditto, Paste) side by side โ€” separate subscriptions, separate shortcuts, several locked to one platform or ecosystem. ClipWise folds those everyday jobs into one tray app with a genuinely usable free tier (10 AI actions a day, forever) and a choice of AI engine, including free local Ollama.

We're honest about the trade: for any single one of those jobs, the category leader goes deeper. Grammarly corrects live as you type with a dedicated grammar engine. DeepL translates whole documents with glossaries. TextSniper is instant and fully offline. Ditto and Paste have search, pins, and sync. ClipWise trades peak per-tool depth for one-tool convenience, cross-platform reach, and price.

If you want the deepest grammar engine, buy Grammarly. If you want one app that rewrites, translates, OCRs, transcribes, and remembers what you copied โ€” everywhere you work, on either platform โ€” that's ClipWise.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

ClipWise's answer

The design north star is non-native English speakers โ€” people reading and writing all day in a language that isn't their first, second-guessing grammar, tone, and phrasing before every send. Rewrite, Translate, and Draft Reply exist to help them sound fluent and confident without leaving the app they're in.

That same design serves everyone else:

  • Students โ€” OCR the reading, summarize the source, clean up the essay
  • Researchers โ€” summarize long sources and tighten abstracts without breaking focus
  • Job seekers โ€” make rรฉsumรฉs and outreach read confident and sharp
  • Support and customer-success teams โ€” turn a rushed note into a clear, on-tone reply
  • Privacy-conscious and offline users โ€” run everything on-device through local Ollama
  • Power users consolidating separate clipboard, OCR, translation, and voice apps

It also fits multilingual teams and creators working across the 21 supported languages, including right-to-left Arabic and Persian.

What's the story behind your product?

ClipWise's answer

ClipWise is built by Wrenio Studio, a bootstrapped one-person studio in the Netherlands.

It started from a daily frustration: copying text out of one app, pasting it into a chatbot tab, fixing it, pasting it back โ€” dozens of times a day. The AI was great; the round-trip was the problem. And it's worse in a second language, where you also want a translation, a tone check, and a rewrite before you hit send.

So the app was built around the hardest writing job there is โ€” reading and writing all day in a language that isn't your first. Nail that, and everyone else gets the same lift.

It grew past text along the way: screenshots and OCR, voice notes, and a local clipboard history โ€” because those were the other tools people kept alt-tabbing to. It ships on Windows and macOS, with a free tier that stays free.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

ClipWise's answer

  • Tauri 2 โ€” Rust backend paired with the system webview, so the app stays small and light (no Electron)
  • Rust โ€” provider dispatch, clipboard and selection watchers, native audio capture, screenshot capture, and all auth (tokens never touch JavaScript)
  • React 19 + TypeScript โ€” the UI
  • SQLite โ€” local clipboard history, stored on-device
  • Supabase โ€” authentication, database, and edge functions
  • Google Gemini โ€” powers ClipWise Managed AI; OpenAI, Anthropic, and local Ollama are supported as bring-your-own providers
  • Paddle โ€” billing and payments, as Merchant of Record
  • Code signing โ€” Authenticode on Windows (Azure Trusted Signing), Apple notarization on macOS, and ed25519-signed silent auto-updates
