Since I started my career in videography, one thing thatโ€™s always been a challenge is finding the right platform to share videos with clients for feedback. Most options were either clunky, expensive, or just didnโ€™t fit how I work. Soโ€ฆ I decided to build my own. Iโ€™ve created a new review platform designed specifically for video creators to simplify the review process, making it easier to send videos, get feedback, and keep projects moving smoothly. FileFeedback is a collaborative review and approval platform for creative and production teams who need fast, structured feedback on PDFs, images, and videos.

Instead of scattering comments across email threads, Slack messages, and marked-up screenshots, teams and their clients leave pinpoint comments directly on the file โ€” click anywhere on a PDF page or image to drop a comment, or pause a video at the exact timestamp that needs a note. Every comment lives in context, so nothing gets lost in translation.

Key features Multi-format review โ€” PDFs, images, and video all supported in one tool, with timestamp-linked comments for video and x/y-pinpoint comments for static files Threaded discussions โ€” replies and /todo slash commands turn feedback into trackable action items without leaving the review Guest reviews, no account required โ€” invite clients or external reviewers via a secure link; they can comment without signing up Public share links โ€” share a single file or a curated portfolio of work with a client-facing gallery view Approval workflow โ€” lock threads once a revision is approved, tag and archive assets, and track status (in review / approved) across a gallery-first dashboard Team & role management โ€” organization-based multi-tenancy with Owner/Admin/Member/Watcher roles and granular per-thread access control White-label branding (Agency plan) โ€” custom logo and brand colors for client-facing review links Kanban pipeline view โ€” track files through review stages alongside the standard gallery view Who it's for Video editors, designers, agencies, marketing teams, and production companies who need a faster client approval loop than email โ€” and want a single source of truth for "what feedback did we actually get on version 3?"

Pricing Free tier (2 members, 2GB storage) up through paid plans with more storage and team seats, plus an Agency tier for white-label client-facing reviews.

Analysis of FileFeedback

Overall verdict

  • FileFeedback appears to be a niche tool designed to help teams and creators collect structured feedback on files (documents, designs, videos, etc.) rather than a mainstream, widely-reviewed product. Based on its stated purpose, it can be a good fit for streamlined feedback collection, though it lacks the broad market validation and long track record of larger established tools.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing ClipNotesPro and FileFeedback.

What makes your product unique?

ClipNotesPro's answer

Don't pay for expensive storage! Most platforms require full uploads before reviewing. ClipNotesPro lets users simply paste a YouTube link, no re-encoding, no upload delays.

Faster setup, no storage limits, and no redundant uploads.

FileFeedback's answer:

FileFeedback is the only review tool that handles every creative format โ€” PDFs, images, videos, and live website snapshots โ€” in a single workspace with format-native feedback. Comments are pinned to exact pixel coordinates on images, specific timecodes on video, and individual pages on PDFs. Clients can leave feedback without creating an account, and agencies can present finished work as branded portfolios with a public share link. Everything from feedback to task creation to client approval lives in one place, with no switching between tools.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

ClipNotesPro's answer

Made for Creators, Not Corporates Platforms like Frame.io are made for large post-production teams and studios. ClipNotesPro is built specifically for content creators, editors, and freelancers.

FileFeedback's answer:

FileFeedback is built for the full feedback loop, not just annotation. Where most tools stop at commenting, FileFeedback converts feedback directly into tasks, tracks them through to completion, and lets you lock a file once it's approved โ€” so nothing gets re-opened. Guest access requires no account, which removes the biggest friction point in getting clients to actually respond. The white-label plan lets agencies present it as their own client portal. And at $12/month for a full team, the pricing is a fraction of tools like Frame.io or Filestage.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

ClipNotesPro's answer

Freelance Videographers & Editors Need a quick way to get feedback from clients

Donโ€™t want to deal with big software like Frame.io

Often work solo or with small client teams

๐Ÿ“น 2. YouTubers & Content Creators Want to share drafts and get feedback from co-creators or sponsors

Benefit from the YouTube URL integration

Prefer simple, no-login tools for collaboration

๐Ÿ‘ฅ 3. Small Production Teams or Agencies Manage multiple projects with multiple clients

Need timestamped feedback and approvals to keep workflows tight

Donโ€™t need bloated enterprise features

๐Ÿค 4. Clients Giving Feedback (Non-Tech-Savvy Users) Business owners, marketing managers, or collaborators

Prefer clicking a link and commenting, not creating accounts or learning new software

FileFeedback's answer:

Creative and marketing agencies, freelance designers and video editors, and in-house creative teams who regularly need structured feedback from clients or stakeholders on visual assets. Typically 2โ€“20 person teams who are tired of chasing feedback through email threads and need a professional, client-friendly way to collect and act on it.

What's the story behind your product?

ClipNotesPro's answer

Since I started my career in videography, one thing thatโ€™s always been a challenge is finding the right platform to share videos with clients for feedback. Most options were either clunky, expensive, or just didnโ€™t fit how I work. Soโ€ฆ I decided to build my own. Iโ€™ve created a new review platform designed specifically for video creators to simplify the review process, making it easier to send videos, get feedback, and keep projects moving smoothly. If youโ€™re a videographer/video editor or know someone who is I'd be grateful if you shared it with them. While only launching at the end of the month the site is live with a bunch of features still to come

FileFeedback's answer:

It started with an email that read: "Can you move the thing on the left a bit? And the colors feel a bit off and flat."

That was the feedback. No screenshot. No annotation. No indication of which "thing," which "left," or which shade of which color. Just a vague paragraph that could mean a dozen different things โ€” and a client waiting on the other end expecting changes by end of day.

After years working in creative, I'd grown used to this. The back-and-forth. The "can you jump on a quick call?" that turns into 45 minutes of screen-sharing. The email chains with subjects like "Re: Re: Re: Finalv3ACTUALFINAL." The revision requests that only make sense once you've already built the wrong thing.

The real problem wasn't that clients were difficult. It was that they're not creatives. They don't think in pixels, timecodes, or font weights. They know what feels wrong when they see it โ€” they just don't have the vocabulary to tell you. So they approximate. They gesture. And you spend half your day trying to decode what they actually meant.

I tried every tool I could find. Some were built for designers talking to other designers. Some required clients to create accounts just to leave a comment โ€” and half of them never bothered. Some worked fine for images but fell apart with video. None of them handled the full loop: feedback in, task created, revision uploaded, approved, done.

So I built FileFeedback to fix my own problem. The core idea was simple: let anyone โ€” even someone with no design vocabulary โ€” point at exactly what they mean. Click the image, drop a pin, leave a note. Scrub the video to 0:42, click, done. No jargon required. No account needed for the client.

What started as a tool I built for myself turned into something my team couldn't imagine working without. And once I saw how much time it gave back โ€” fewer calls, fewer misread emails, fewer "wait, which version is this?" moments โ€” I knew other creative teams had the same problem.

FileFeedback exists because the feedback loop was broken, and the people suffering most were the ones trying hardest to do good work.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

FileFeedback's answer:

Next.js (React), TypeScript, PostgreSQL with Prisma ORM, Redis with BullMQ for background jobs, AWS S3 for file storage, Clerk for authentication, Stripe for billing, and Postmark / AWS SES for transactional email. Hosted on AWS Amplify.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

FileFeedback's answer:

  • Design agencies managing feedback across in-house and freelance creative teams
  • Videography and video production agencies handling multi-format client reviews
  • Creative studios coordinating between internal designers and external contractors
  • Marketing agencies running concurrent campaigns with client approval workflows
  • Freelance creative teams and independent contractors delivering work to non-technical clients
