Expensive, and the pricing model changed, but it just works. I hope more competitors release equally good quality to have a more fair pricing model in the longrun.
So Iโve been playing around with Claude for a bit, and hereโs the vibe:
Honestly, it feels way more chill than a lot of other AI tools. Itโs super polite, doesnโt jump into assumptions too fast, and gives responses that are easy to read like talking to a thoughtful friend rather than someone in a hurry. Itโs surprisingly good at breaking down complex stuff into simple terms without sounding condescending, which I really appreciate.
In terms of creativity, Claude does pretty well โ whether I ask for a poem, a short story, or help brainstorming ideas, it doesnโt just give cookie-cutter replies. Thereโs a bit of personality there, like it tries to make things interesting rather than just factual.
On the downside? Sometimes it plays it a bit too safe. If you push for a bold opinion or a more adventurous answer, itโll often stay in the middle-of-the-road lane. And for niche topics, itโs not always as sharp as some other models unless you give super clear instructions.
Also, itโs fast no long pauses or overcomplicated explanations which makes it nice for quick back-and-forth.
Claude Sonnet 3.5 is amazing for coding! I used to use the chat interface and copy-paste, but now I use aider.chat. Aider works in a git repo and forces Claude to only make the changes you requested. Changes are easy to revert.
A downside: Code is not always what I want. I try to make it do work in small chunks and this helps. Excels at writing boilerplate-y code that tends to be a little different on different websites.
Two helpful styles of prompts:
Using it for Python/Django/HTMX/AlpineJS. Django templates mixed with JS are no problem.

My prefered way of using a new mode is through Claude, but I believe Gemma4 has a different tool calling structure so it is not compatible yet, but you can use it with LMStudio, or skil all that because you can now. - Source: dev.to / 4 months ago
โ In 2024, Apple released a technical paper revealing that "Apple Intelligence" was trained on TPUs, bypassing NVIDIA entirely โ Top AI models like Claude (Anthropic), Midjourney, and Character.ai rely heavily on Google because they offer better performance-per-dollar for massive Transformer models. - Source: dev.to / 7 months ago
Drop an image into Claude or ChatGPT asking it to "recreate this." The result? The LLM guesses styles. Is that padding 16px or 24px? Is that blue #3b82f6 or #2563eb? Is the shadow 0 2px 8px or 0 4px 12px? Pure hallucination. - Source: dev.to / 7 months ago

Setup time matters too. The delta between Runpod and bare-metal providers like Lambda Labs is large. Reaching an equivalent setup on a bare VM requires provisioning the instance, configuring the OS and CUDA drivers, installing Docker, setting up your orchestration layer (Kubernetes or Slurm), deploying your inference container, configuring autoscaling rules, and wiring up your load balancer. Thatโs a realistic... - Source: dev.to / 5 months ago
Let's do the math for a representative setup: GPT-OSS-120B via Together.ai ($0.15/$0.60) vs self-hosting on H100s from Lambda Labs at $2.99/hr ($2,183/mo). A single H100 running a 70B model produces roughly 50 tokens/second on average, which works out to about 130M tokens per month. - Source: dev.to / 6 months ago

Another option is to pay for AWS server with a beefy GPU and enough RAM. It's not too cheap, but isn't expensive either if you aren't planning to run it 24/7. Or get a GPU cluster from a company that offers stuff for ML specifically, it might be easier to set up compared to AWS and in some cases cheaper. Like, for example, lambdalabs that offers H100 gpu for 2 bucks per hour. Source: about 3 years ago
I used some of the cloud GPUs on Vast.ai, but I also tried Lambda Labs, and these days I have my own docker container setup which can be deployed to a VM on Google Cloud and used more programatically. Source: over 3 years ago
