  • Potato-ish PC Looking for suggestions - Local, Colab, Online?
Another option is to pay for AWS server with a beefy GPU and enough RAM. It's not too cheap, but isn't expensive either if you aren't planning to run it 24/7. Or get a GPU cluster from a company that offers stuff for ML specifically, it might be easier to set up compared to AWS and in some cases cheaper. Like, for example, lambdalabs that offers H100 gpu for 2 bucks per hour. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Something like FaceApp to help me visualize myself as a woman?
I used some of the cloud GPUs on Vast.ai, but I also tried Lambda Labs, and these days I have my own docker container setup which can be deployed to a VM on Google Cloud and used more programatically. Source: about 2 years ago

  • AMD Graphics Cards Are the Better Value at Every Price Point
If only occasionally, why not consider a cloud solution? GCP Compute Engine VMs are fairly cheap, managed jobs with nvidia cards on AI Platform/Vertex AI as well, or hosted jobs with google colab. Other services like Paperspace and Lambda Labs exist as well. Source: over 2 years ago

I think your site looks good and I have used the type of service you offer, but there are 2 potential problems. As SheepherderPatient51 said,Google already offers all of this for free (and so does https://kaggle.com and https://www.paperspace.com ).  There are also other sites just like yours such as https://deepnote.com,https://saturncloud.io, and https://lambdalabs.com . • Nvidia RTX 4090 has lower tensor core performance than 4080 16GB
If the 4080 has indeed faster tensor cores, it should show up in Deep Learning benchmarks (at fixed batch-size, of course). I'd accept benchmarks from any sites that are knowledgable in this domain like https://lambdalabs.com, https://www.servethehome.com or https://www.pugetsystems.com/. Source: over 2 years ago

  • [D] Which external Nvidia GPU should I buy for machine learning applications?
Alternatively, Lambda Labs seems to be recommended here a lot - you can take a look at that. Though, IMO, what they offer is a bit overpriced compared to what you can put together yourself (if you have the time and are willing to learn about how to put the hardware together - it's not at all hard. Some have said it's easier than assembling Lego). Source: about 3 years ago
  • [D] Are there ways to get GPU computing powers for my own research?
I’m going to be brutally honest, you are not in a good position to be purchasing GPUs. Unless you have a large budget (10k+ USD), I would suggest sticking to CPU training. If you do have access to those kinds of funds, the best option is to contact a commercial reseller (e.g., Lambda Labs) and purchase a machine with something like an A5000. Source: over 3 years ago
