The platform features an intuitive drag-and-drop interface, making it accessible for users with varying levels of technical expertise.
  • Integrated E-commerce
Cargo provides tools for setting up online stores, including options for product management, payment processing, and more.
  • Responsive Design
Websites built with Cargo are automatically optimized for mobile devices, ensuring a good user experience across all screen sizes.
  • Custom Domains
Users can connect their own custom domain names to their Cargo websites, enhancing branding and professionalism.

Possible disadvantages of Cargo

  • Cost
Cargo is a premium service with subscription fees, which may be a barrier for some users, especially those looking for a free solution.
  • Limited Blogging Tools
Compared to other website builders, Cargo's blogging features are relatively basic and may not meet the needs of prolific bloggers.
  • Learning Curve
While the interface is user-friendly, some advanced customization options can be complex, requiring time to learn and master.
  • Feature Limitations
Some advanced features might be missing or limited compared to competitors, potentially requiring additional tools or plugins.
  • Customer Support
While support is available, some users report slower response times or less comprehensive assistance compared to other services.

React Server features and specs

  • Server-side rendering built-in
React Server provides built-in server-side rendering (SSR) out of the box, which improves initial page load performance and SEO without requiring complex custom setup.
  • Fast page transitions
React Server supports fast client-side page transitions after the initial server render, giving users a smooth single-page application experience while retaining SSR benefits.
  • Built on React
Since it is built on top of React, developers already familiar with React can leverage their existing knowledge and the vast React ecosystem of components and libraries.
  • Code splitting and lazy loading
React Server supports automatic code splitting and lazy loading of components, which helps reduce the initial bundle size and improves page load times for end users.
  • Simplified SSR configuration
Compared to setting up SSR manually with React, React Server abstracts away much of the complexity involved in server rendering, routing, and hydration, making it easier to get started.

Possible disadvantages of React Server

  • Small community and ecosystem
React Server has a relatively small community compared to mainstream frameworks like Next.js or Remix, which means fewer tutorials, third-party plugins, and community support resources are available.
  • Limited maintenance and updates
The project has seen limited active development and maintenance over time, raising concerns about long-term viability, bug fixes, and compatibility with newer versions of React.
  • Sparse documentation
The documentation for React Server is not as comprehensive or well-maintained as that of more popular alternatives, making it harder for new developers to learn and troubleshoot issues.
  • Fewer features compared to alternatives
Compared to mature frameworks like Next.js, React Server lacks many modern features such as API routes, built-in image optimization, incremental static regeneration, and a rich plugin ecosystem.
  • Risk of project abandonment
Given the low activity on the project's repository and the dominance of competing frameworks, there is a risk that the project may become abandoned, leaving adopters without future support or updates.

Analysis of React Server

Overall verdict

  • React Server (react-server.io) is a specialized framework for building server-rendered React applications with a focus on performance and simplified architecture, but I don't have verified, up-to-date information confirming its current status, adoption, or quality compared to alternatives like Next.js or Remix. I'd recommend researching current reviews and documentation directly before making a decision.

Why this product is good

  • Claims to offer server-side rendering capabilities for React applications
  • May provide an alternative approach to SSR compared to more established frameworks
  • Specific technical merits would depend on your project requirements and current documentation

Recommended for

  • Developers researching alternative SSR solutions for React
  • Teams willing to evaluate niche or less mainstream frameworks
  • Projects where established frameworks like Next.js don't fit specific architectural needs
  • Users who should verify current features, community support, and maintenance status before adopting

  • Do I really have to choose between a working mail and working SSL?

  • How to point A-Record to an IP & NS-Record mail problem
I had struggles adding my webmail to a mail service and according to my webhost that was because I had the NS-Records pointed to my external website-host (where I built my website: https://cargo.site/). So I pointed the NS-Records back to the webhost and was told to point the domain to my site via A-Records (IP-adress) instead. Then I tried to ping my website to find out the IP adress and pointed my domains... Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Absolute noob here, I’m a spanish filmmaker and would like to know which type of software or coding system this webpage was most likely created with!
As u/purpleornavy commented, you can use https://builtwith.com/ to find out what technologies were used to create a website. It appears the website you linked is created with cargo.site. If you look on their wesite in the templates section, you can actually find a template that is pretty similar to the website you linked. Source: over 3 years ago
  • Does anybody think web design is complete shit compared to what it used to be?
I like Cargo for this reason. Their templates are unique and much more intended for a “creatives” market. They offer discounts to students in the top design and art schools. My web developer professor this semester at Pratt talked a lot about this exact concept, though. He encouraged us to get creative and gave examples showing sites from the flash era. The websites a lot of people came up with in the class were... Source: over 3 years ago

Hey, loving your tool and have been using it a LOT recently. I'm a newbie to a lot of web management of DNS etc., so this might be an easy one: but when I look up my domain for example https://www.nslookup.io/domains/kristiankruse.com/dns-records/ it doesn't find any CNAME records, why is that? It's a cargo.site site so has to use their DNS Manager. Assuming that's why, but still wondered. Also, if you had... Source: over 3 years ago
