As answered by people managing CapCut and ClickClips.
ClickClips's answer:
ClickClips combines AI, audio, and speech-based highlight detection with local desktop processing. It is designed specifically for long gaming recordings and streams, supports batch processing, vertical and horizontal layouts, subtitles, webcam and minimap detection, and does not require users to upload hours of footage to the cloud.
ClickClips's answer:
ClickClips is a good fit for creators who want more control over long recordings without relying on cloud credits or upload limits. Videos are processed locally on a Windows PC, users can combine different detection methods, process multiple recordings in batches, review detected clips before rendering, and create both vertical and horizontal outputs.
ClickClips's answer:
ClickClips is primarily built for streamers, gamers, and content creators who regularly work with long recordings and want to turn them into shorter clips for YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram Reels, or regular video platforms. It is especially useful for creators who produce a large amount of gameplay footage and want to reduce manual review time.
ClickClips's answer:
ClickClips started from a simple problem: reviewing several hours of gameplay just to find a few good moments takes too much time. The project began as a clipping tool and gradually evolved into a desktop application with AI-assisted highlight detection, speech and audio analysis, batch processing, custom layouts, subtitles, and local rendering. The goal has remained the same: make the path from a long recording to usable clips much faster.
ClickClips's answer:
ClickClips is built as a Windows desktop application using Python and PySide6. FFmpeg handles video and audio processing, Whisper is used for speech recognition, and PyTorch supports machine-learning workflows for highlight detection and model training. The application is designed around local processing rather than cloud-based video analysis.
