BatchCrunch processes folders of video, audio and image files entirely inside your browser tab. It is ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly, running on your own CPU, so files are never uploaded to a server. That removes the two limits every online converter has: there is no upload size cap and no queue behind someone else's machine. After the first load the encoder is cached, so it keeps working with the network switched off.

Drop a whole folder and set one recipe per media type. Compress and convert video, audio and images; crop or change aspect ratio, resize, rotate, flip and add a text or image watermark to video and images; rename the output files. Every file shows an estimated output size before it runs and its real size, delta and a side-by-side preview after. Each file has its own state and its own retry, so one bad file does not stop the batch.

It is not a video editor: no timeline, no trimming, no subtitles. It does one job, in bulk.

Free for 3 files per batch, no account and no email required. A one-time $19 licence removes the batch limit and changes nothing else โ€” every format and every edit is already in the free tier. The key is signed and verified offline in the browser, so it does not depend on this site staying online, and there is no subscription.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing CapCut and BatchCrunch.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

BatchCrunch's answer:

People who have a folder, not a file. In practice that is: video creators and podcast editors compressing a week of exports before upload; ecommerce and marketing people resizing, cropping and watermarking product photos to one spec; developers and technical writers shrinking screen recordings for docs, issues and pull requests; and anyone whose material cannot legally be uploaded to a third party โ€” agency and freelance work under NDA, medical, legal, internal recordings.

The common thread is repetition plus a reason not to upload. Someone converting one file once should use whatever is at hand; this is for the tenth file in a row.

What makes your product unique?

BatchCrunch's answer:

The files never leave the tab. BatchCrunch is ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly, running on your own CPU inside the browser, so nothing is uploaded to a server โ€” you can open the network panel and watch it not happen. Two things follow from that which no online converter can match: there is no upload size limit, and there is no queue, because you are not sharing anyone else's machine. It also keeps working with the network off after the first load.

The other half is that it is built for folders, not files. You drop a whole folder, set one recipe per media type โ€” video, audio, images โ€” and every file gets its own progress, its own size estimate before it runs, and its own retry if it fails, so one bad file does not stop the batch.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

BatchCrunch's answer:

Compared to online converters (CloudConvert, FreeConvert, Zamzar, TinyPNG): no upload, so no size cap, no waiting in a queue, and no copy of your footage sitting on someone's storage. For anyone handling client work or anything under NDA, that is not a preference, it is the whole requirement.

Compared to desktop tools (HandBrake, XnConvert): nothing to install or update, it runs from a URL on any machine including one you do not control, and it covers video, audio and images in one pass instead of one tool per media type.

On price: one payment of $19, forever, no subscription. The free tier is the full tool โ€” every format and every edit โ€” limited to 3 files per batch. Paying only removes that limit. The licence key is signed and verified offline in your browser, so it keeps working even if this site disappears.

What's the story behind your product?

BatchCrunch's answer:

It started with a folder of screen recordings that were too large to attach anywhere. Every online converter either capped the upload, put the job in a queue, or wanted a monthly subscription for something I needed a few times a month. The desktop tools worked but handled one media type each, and I did not want to install anything on a work machine.

The thing that made it worth building was that ffmpeg now compiles to WebAssembly and runs multithreaded in a browser tab. That means the conversion can happen on the CPU already in front of you, and the entire category of upload limits, queues and privacy policies simply stops applying. So it is a single static page with no accounts, no server in the path for your files, and one $19 payment instead of a subscription.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

BatchCrunch's answer:

  • ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly (@ffmpeg/ffmpeg with the multithreaded core), running in Web Workers with SharedArrayBuffer for parallel encoding
  • TypeScript, React and Vite for the app, Tailwind CSS for the interface
  • The Canvas 2D API for the image operations โ€” crop, resize, rotate, flip, text and image watermarks โ€” and for the before/after preview thumbnails
  • The File System Access API (showDirectoryPicker) and drag-and-drop for reading whole folders without uploading them
  • Web Crypto for offline licence verification: an ECDSA P-256 signed key checked in the browser, with no licence server to call
  • Cloudflare Pages for the static site, and one small Cloudflare Worker that only issues licence keys after payment and counts anonymous page views โ€” it never sees a media file

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

BatchCrunch's answer:

  • None that I can name, and by design I cannot know
  • There are no accounts, no sign-up and no email required to use the tool, and the files are processed locally, so there is no customer list and no usage data tied to a person
  • Buyers get a licence key by email and nothing else is recorded
  • It is a new product launched in August 2026 by a single developer, sold at $19 one-time, so there are no enterprise logos to show, and any I listed would be invented
