As answered by people managing butce.app and Cert Decoder.
butce.app's answer
Built by a solo developer who could not find a budget app that understood how spending actually works in Türkiye. Every existing app was designed for markets where people pay in full. After tracking installments manually in spreadsheets for years, the decision was made to build the right tool from scratch.
Cert Decoder's answer:
I built certdecoder.com over the weekend for my own needs. Sometimes in my work, I need to verify and check certificate details.
butce.app's answer
Python, Flask, SQLite, SQLAlchemy, Bootstrap 5, Chart.js, vanilla JavaScript. Each user gets a fully isolated SQLite database. Hosted on shared infrastructure with a focus on stability and data privacy.
Cert Decoder's answer:
certdecoder.com was built using just JavaScript and HTML—simple, fast, and with all processing happening locally in your browser, so no certificate data is sent to any server
butce.app's answer
People living in Türkiye who manage household budgets across multiple credit cards with active installment plans. Typically individuals or couples tracking monthly income, fixed expenses, loan payments, and variable spending in Turkish Lira.
Cert Decoder's answer:
certdecoder.com is primarily built for developers, sysadmins, cybersecurity enthusiasts, and DevOps engineers.
butce.app's answer
Butce.app is the only budget app built specifically for how people spend in Türkiye. In Türkiye, almost every purchase comes with installment options across multiple credit cards. No Western app handles this. Butce.app lets you set the number of installments on any expense and automatically splits payments across future months on your financial calendar.
Cert Decoder's answer:
Simple, fast, and reliable. Some similar tools can’t even decode basic certificates. I rigorously tested my tool with many real-world certificates and covered several edge cases where competitors fall short.

Why? Because I built certdecoder.com and couldn’t find a decent place to submit it. So I said screw it — I’ll build my own. With blackjack and hookers. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
