This is essentially a watered down version of the "MVC" architecture. I use http lib of node for server and requests, cheerio for webscraping and Sendinblue for sending the emails and mongodb (atlas) for storing all of the data. There is also Unity Learn's Create with Code that also has a teacher trainingthat goes with it. BitsBox is also great, my kids started out with it, and then moved onto Create With Code. Source: almost 4 years ago
Maybe try Bitsbox? It teaches Javascript by making games. They can share the games with their friends, and it also leaves a lot of room for them to modify the games using what they learned. It teaches a lot of programming skills that are useful later. There is also Google's CS First, that's free and has a lot of different projects.
