Https://usebottles.com/ These have been around since I last used WINE in anger on macOS. Basically think of it as a container for running an app in WINE with all the settings predefined for best compatibility. Once the masses discover that KDE is just as user friendly as Windows these days and that is relatively easy to run (most) Windows apps they love through Bottles (https://usebottles.com/), and WinApps (https://github.com/winapps-org/winapps)... oof. - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago

Wine can be a bit of a headache if you are on a couple year older distro as it can make it harder to install newer Wine versions. Problem solved: https://linearmouse.app/ Approximately the same features as SteerMouse but free. I've voluntarily donated to the dev, though. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
I haven't been using it for this purpose, but Linear Mouse should be able to do the trick: https://linearmouse.app/. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
To add to the mouse/input apps mentioned, I'll add https://github.com/thealpa/SaneSideButtons and https://linearmouse.app/, the "avoid installing steelseriesengine or logi options" stack. Source: over 2 years ago
