Problem solved: https://linearmouse.app/ Approximately the same features as SteerMouse but free. I've voluntarily donated to the dev, though. - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
I haven't been using it for this purpose, but Linear Mouse should be able to do the trick: https://linearmouse.app/. - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago
To add to the mouse/input apps mentioned, I'll add https://github.com/thealpa/SaneSideButtons and https://linearmouse.app/, the "avoid installing steelseriesengine or logi options" stack. Source: about 1 year ago

LinearMouse - Price: Free Mouse acceleration manager for macOS that allows you to customize your mouse acceleration curve. Source: over 1 year ago
Try linearmouse, the app is amazing, free, and also gets rid of mouse acceleration. https://linearmouse.app. Source: over 1 year ago
I used to use steer mouse and it was good, just the settings panel was loading very slow. Now I use linearmouse and it's much simpler to setup and even works with magic mouse (which steer mouse didn't do). Source: over 1 year ago
Yes. USBO is absolutely ancient. Also try https://linearmouse.app/. Source: over 1 year ago
You should try linear mouse. Https://linearmouse.app/. Source: over 1 year ago
You need a separate app for that, I recommend https://linearmouse.app. Source: over 1 year ago
Try using Linear Mouse, fixed some issues I had a while back on M1 with my mouse being wonky. Basically aids with controlling your mouse https://linearmouse.app. Source: over 1 year ago
Build something like https://linearmouse.app into the OS. Many PC-type mouse and keyboard games, people try them on Mac and get shaken by MacOS's acceleration curve. I don't mind the curve for work related stuff, but in a fullscreen game like Starcraft 2 or something, I want that off. Easy win. Hide it behind this new 'game mode' options screen or something. Not natively, but you can use an app called Linear Mouse App: https://linearmouse.app/ It’s very useful! Source: over 1 year ago
In the end, I ended up installing linear mouse, which let me adjust the track speed of my mouse so it's usable again. If anyone else is in a similar desperate situation, it might be worth trying. Source: over 1 year ago
If anyone decides to pick up a third-party mouse I recommend an app called "LinearMouse" It lets you reverse scrolling direction, disable mouse acceleration and use universal back and forward buttons on per mouse basis. Source: over 1 year ago
About smooth scrolling, on Mac I used MOS but nowadays I use LinearMouse. Maybe you can get something similar with KensingtonWorks or other app. Source: over 1 year ago
Solution: I use Linear Mouse to reverse the scroll direction only for the mouse. And also to disable acceleration when needed. Source: over 1 year ago
My advice is to uninstall options+ and instead use a third party software such as BetterMouse ($5, 7 day free trial) / SteerMouse ($20, 30 day free trial) / LinearMouse (free). The lag is happening because of Options+, not the mouse itself. Unfortunately this has been a long-standing issue with Logitech's software. Source: over 1 year ago
Also looked at the open source https://linearmouse.app/ but I don't see that it can control Final Cut Pro. Source: almost 2 years ago
