I guess the main questions you have to ask is "haw many operating systems do you want it to run on?" and "would it be better as a web site instead of written in python"? Well I ask the second one because things like Bitmelo and Bitsy exist. But if you just want to learn Python than obviously that isn't relevant. It's not as monolithic as you'd think. There are lots of engines out there but their communities aren't very vocal compared to Unity, Unreal, and especially Godot's community.
