The first category includes tools like Lovable or Base44. These are prompt-driven tools that can generate visually polished interfaces very quickly. They're great for demos that need to look impressive. However, they are usually frontend-focused. Once you need to store data, manage users, or connect real logic, things often become fragile. Backend integrations—commonly via services like Supabase—can break in ways... - Source: dev.to / 8 months ago
I love how AI is shaking up coding, and vibe coding seems to be the new obsession of -almost- every developer. It lets anyone, even non-coders, build apps by describing ideas in plain English. Tools like Base44, Lovable, and Cursor turn your words into working code, no syntax required. - Source: dev.to / about 1 year ago
Landing page is excellent, esp the video; gets straight to the point. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFzQF_Ik_-g https://base44.com/. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
Base44 For non-coders. All-in-one. Creates dashboard-like apps pretty well. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
Both for simplicity and portability, I am a very happy user of https://firecore.com/infuse. I guess it's less full featured as Plex or Jellyfin (it still more than covers the bases for video: format support, different video/audio/subtitle tracks, tv series recognition, skip intros, Trakt.tv etc.); but then again all it requires is any online storage, and the Infuse app (either on iDevice or AppleTV). - Source: Hacker News / about 10 hours ago

I use Infuse on my Apple TV to access my videos on the network. It can pick up media from a samba share (or probably any other network share). There's more info on their site: https://firecore.com/infuse It can also serve as a front end for a Plex server if you run that. While this isn't "local files", it works well and serves a similar purpose. Note: there is a very fair, cheap monthly/yearly/lifetime... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
Not downsizing exactly, but I 'm still on my iPhone 12 mini. Partly because I prefer the smaller screen but also because its still very fast and reliable. I had previous had a Gen 1 iPhone SE which I only gave up on due to accidental damage. My Roku TV has wifi disabled and I rely on an older Apple TV for subscriptions (Netflix, PBS, Disney+). The main use-case for AppleTV though is the Infuse Pro app which I use... - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
