Three reasons.

One flow instead of four apps. Repertoire, setlists, rehearsal scheduling, and the tech rider live in the same workspace, so nothing has to be copied between tools or re-shared in a group chat.

Real-time by default. Setlist changes, song edits, and poll results sync to every member instantly — which matters most in the last minutes before a show.

No paywalled features. Every capability is included in every plan. The only thing that changes between plans is how many people are in your band, so a five-piece does not lose Stage Mode or the tech rider by picking a smaller plan.

BandUp also runs in the browser on any device with no installation required, and stays usable offline once you are on stage.

BandUp's answer

Amateur and semi-professional bands that play live regularly but do not have a manager or a road crew. Cover bands, wedding and event bands, tribute acts, original bands playing club circuits, worship teams, and music school ensembles.

Typically three to eight members who rehearse a few times a month, play somewhere between one and ten shows a month, and currently coordinate through group chats, shared notes, and printed setlists. Inside the band, the heaviest users are the band leader and whoever handles booking — but the point of the product is that every member sees the same up-to-date information.

BandUp started from the ordinary friction of playing in a band. Booking one rehearsal took dozens of messages. Setlists were printed, then changed by hand at the venue, so half the band played from an outdated sheet. Lyrics and chords lived in different notes apps in different keys. Every venue asked for a tech rider and someone rebuilt it from scratch each time.

None of that is a music problem. It is an organization problem that quietly eats the energy that should go into playing. So we built the tool we wanted: one shared workspace where the band's songs, sets, calendar, and stage requirements stay in sync on their own — so the time before a show goes to the music instead of the logistics.

Most tools in this space solve one slice of band life. A setlist app that does not know your rehearsal calendar, a chord app that does not know your stage plot, a group chat that knows nothing at all. BandUp connects them: songs you add to the repertoire feed the setlist, the setlist feeds Stage Mode, and the band data behind them generates the tech rider and input list for the venue.

The second difference is that it is built for the whole band at once, not for one member with a tablet. Everything is live. When the band leader reorders the set two minutes before the show, every member's screen updates at the same moment. Follow Mode lets anyone watch the leader's page in real time while still keeping their own transpose and type size.
