  • Modern Control Panel
Opalstack provides a clean, modern, and intuitive web-based dashboard for managing sites, applications, databases, and email accounts, which is a significant improvement over older-style hosting control panels like cPanel.

  • Reliable Infrastructure and Support

Possible disadvantages

  • Smaller Community and Ecosystem
Compared to major hosting providers like DigitalOcean, AWS, or even shared hosts like SiteGround, Opalstack has a smaller user base, which means fewer community tutorials, third-party guides, and forum discussions available for troubleshooting.
  • Limited Scalability Options
Opalstack is primarily a shared hosting provider, which means it may not be the best choice for high-traffic applications or projects that require rapid, on-demand scaling of resources like CPU, RAM, or storage.
  • Not Ideal for Beginners
While developer-friendly, Opalstack's approach can be intimidating for non-technical users. Setting up applications often requires familiarity with the command line and server configuration, which may not suit those looking for simple one-click solutions.
  • Limited Data Center Locations
Opalstack offers a relatively small number of data center locations compared to major cloud providers, which may result in higher latency for users targeting audiences in regions not well-served by the available server locations.
  • Fewer Managed Services and Add-ons
Unlike larger hosting platforms, Opalstack lacks a wide range of managed add-on services such as built-in CDN integration, managed backups with granular restore options, or one-click SSL management that more mainstream providers offer out of the box.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Audisto Crawler and Opalstack.

What makes your product unique?

Audisto Crawler's answer

Audisto Crawler is uniquely engineered for high-performance structural data processing on massive, enterprise-scale websites. Unlike standard SEO tools that rely on generic, color-coded scoring algorithms and superficial data sampling, Audisto focuses entirely on absolute data quality. It builds a complete, unfiltered link graph of the website, calculating internal PageRank flow and mapping complex information architecture down to individual page clusters. With no crawl-credit limits, custom segmentation capabilities, and an automated throttling engine that dynamically protects server stability, it turns vast amounts of architectural data into real insights.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Audisto Crawler's answer

You should choose Audisto Crawler over standard tools if you handle enterprise-scale portals, massive e-commerce setups, or complex international websites where smaller desktop or cloud crawlers stall out. Audisto offers unlimited crawls without a frustrating credit throttling system, handles high-throughput JavaScript rendering natively, and allows an unlimited number of seats so your dev, QA, and SEO teams can collaborate without extra costs. It strips away the superficial noise to give technical experts the raw, queryable, and filterable data they need to protect crawl budget and structural integrity.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Audisto Crawler's answer

The primary audience consists of enterprise in-house SEO teams, digital agencies, QA engineers, and system architects who view their website as critical business infrastructure. It is built specifically for advanced technical SEO professionals who have outgrown generic "all-in-one" SEO suites and require specialized toolsets to debug intricate issues like complex pagination, deep JS rendering bottlenecks, broken redirect chains, or massive multi-language hreflang configurations.

What's the story behind your product?

Audisto Crawler's answer

The Audisto Crawler was born out of a real-world technical challenge in 2011 when Tobias Schwarz and Gerd Riesselmann were conducting a complex structural analysis to optimize an enterprise website. Realizing that no tool on the market could provide the deep structural and architectural insights they needed, they decided to build their own solution.

Tobias and Gerd launched their first MVP on October 14, 2011. Driven by rapid user growth among advanced technical SEOs, a company was officially incorporated on January 16, 2013, and subsequently established the brand name Audisto. To accelerate its enterprise growth, the Audisto expanded its leadership in 2018 when Sören Bendig joined the management team as CEO.

Today, Audisto is a fully independent, privately owned and operated software company.
