What's the story behind your product?

AssetLab's answer

That was the thought running through our founders' minds after yet another day of jumping between five different systems just to answer one question: "When should we replace this equipment?" They were managing millions in municipal infrastructure, drowning in spreadsheets, fighting with legacy CMMS software that felt like it was built in the 90s, and manually copying data between disconnected planning tools.

The breaking point? Missing a critical equipment failure because the maintenance schedule lived in one system, the condition assessment in another, and the budget forecast in a third. Sound familiar?

AssetLab was born from that determination to do better. Our founding teamโ€”facility managers, asset planners, and software engineersโ€”came together with a shared vision: build the system we always wished existed. Over the past 7 years, we've collectively managed over $500 million in infrastructure across municipalities, commercial properties, and industrial facilities. We've lived through the audits, the emergency repairs, the budget battles, and the "why didn't anyone tell me?" moments.

Today, AssetLab combines strategic planning with daily operations in one intelligent platform. No more data silos. No more switching between systems. No more wondering if you're making the right decision with incomplete information. Just one powerful platform that works the way real asset management teams actually work.

Built in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Trusted by organizations that refuse to settle for "good enough" asset management.

  1. Steve Good
ยท Facilities Manager at Progressive Housing Society ยท
Bringing Structure and Visibility to Supportive Housing Operations

As the Facilities Manager for a low-barrier, non-profit supportive housing society, I need a system that works in the real world โ€” not just on paper. Since implementing AssetLab, itโ€™s become a strong operational tool for managing our buildings day to day.

In supportive housing, things move quickly. Units turn over, maintenance issues arise unexpectedly, and documentation matters. AssetLab makes it easy to track assets by both system and location, which helps me see patterns, manage recurring issues, and make informed decisions instead of reacting blindly. Work orders are straightforward to create and track, and the asset history gives me clarity when troubleshooting ongoing problems.

What I appreciate most is that the platform supports both the granular detail I need on the ground and the bigger-picture planning required for capital forecasting. As a non-profit managing public assets, we have a responsibility to demonstrate stewardship โ€” and AssetLab gives us the data to back up our decisions.

As a Canadian startup founded by Tomasz Pelszynski, the system feels aligned with the realities of facilities management in our sector. Itโ€™s practical, intuitive, and clearly built by someone who understands how buildings actually operate.

AssetLab has helped bring more structure and visibility to our maintenance program, and Iโ€™m looking forward to continuing to build our processes within it.
