The core differentiator is the architecture โ code stored as structured JSON in a database rather than text files. That single decision creates a cascade of things nobody else can do: AI can actually understand your codebase. Every other AI coding tool (Cursor, Windsurf, Copilot, Replit) works by feeding text files into context windows and hoping the model figures out what's going on. Stellify gives AI a queryable database. It can ask "show me every method that touches the User model" and get a precise answer, not a grep through strings. Surgical refactoring at scale. Because every method, statement, and clause has its own UUID and lives as a discrete record, you can rename, move, or restructure things across an entire codebase programmatically. No regex find-and-replace, no "hope I didn't miss one." Conflict-free collaboration. Two developers can't edit the same text file simultaneously without merge conflicts. But when code is atomic database records, two people can work on different methods in the same file without ever colliding. Git merge conflicts essentially stop existing. MCP-native from the ground up. Stellify isn't bolting AI on as an afterthought. The MCP server gives AI agents real, structured tools โ create a file, add a method, search the codebase, build UI elements. It's not "paste this code block" โ it's actual tool use. One environment, no tool-switching. Editor, terminal, database viewer, deployment, UI builder, method library โ all in the browser. The "Xcode for web development" vision, but for Laravel/Vue/Tailwind.

If you're building web apps and you want AI that produces production-grade applications, Stellify is the only platform where the codebase itself is designed for AI to work with. Everyone else is retrofitting AI onto tools that were built for humans typing text. Stellify was built from the ground up for a world where AI is doing the building. The trade-off is the opinionated stack. If you need to work with a specific stack, Stellify isn't for you. But if you primarily care about the web app you're shipping, nothing else comes close to this level of integration between your code, your tools, and your AI.
I've use it instead of Firebase on a 15$ DigitalOcean droplet and saved around ~$150 a month. Managing my own infra does take some extra time, but definitely worth it. The APIs and SDK are also surprisingly much easier to consume than Firebase. Waiting for the cloud version.

Initially, I was using the Supabase free tier, but I was hitting the limits, and my app was becoming stale. Then I switched to Appwrite.
