  • Limited Third-Party Integrations
As compared to some other backend-as-a-service (BaaS) platforms, AppWrite has fewer pre-built third-party integrations, which might limit its extensibility.
  • Newer and Evolving

Setting up an eSIM can be more complex than inserting a physical SIM card, which may be challenging for less tech-savvy users.
  • Limited Awareness
Many users are still unaware of eSIM technology and its benefits, which can result in a slower adoption rate and potentially less user traffic to the platform.

AppWrite Reviews

  1. Appwrite is awesome, free and open-source!

I've use it instead of Firebase on a 15$ DigitalOcean droplet and saved around ~$150 a month. Managing my own infra does take some extra time, but definitely worth it. The APIs and SDK are also surprisingly much easier to consume than Firebase. Waiting for the cloud version.

  • Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (July 2026)
How do you judge "the best" network? It normally depends on if you're in the city, countryside, island etc. I travel fulltime and constantly buy new esims. Normally I just go on esimdb and buy the cheapest one. Then when I get to the location I'm staying at, I chat with folks to figure which network works best there.
