SnapRender is a screenshot and web-capture API for developers. A single request turns any URL, raw HTML, or Markdown into a pixel-accurate PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF. Full-page capture up to 32,768px, named device presets, dark mode, custom viewports, element hiding, and configurable caching are standard, and ads and cookie-consent banners are removed automatically so captures come out clean. It is built for production integration: official Node.js, Python, and Go SDKs, a batch endpoint for up to 50 URLs per request, content extraction in six formats, signed URLs, webhooks, and header-based authentication. Teams use it for link previews and social cards, PDF and report generation, visual regression and deploy checks, thumbnails, and archiving. It also ships a hosted MCP server so AI agents can capture and read web pages as a native tool. Every feature is available on every plan, including a free tier.

  • How to Give AI Agents Website Screenshots with MCP (2026)
ApiFlash is fast and cheap (Chrome on AWS Lambda, $7/mo for 1,000) but has only Third-party MCP wrappers — fine for a quick experiment, riskier for production. ScreenshotAPI.net Has a broad parameter set (element capture, video, PDF, data extraction) from $9/mo but no MCP server at All. Thum.io is the cheapest raw price ($0.20/1,000) with a no-signup branded free Tier, but full-page is a paid feature, there's... - Source: dev.to / about 2 months ago

  • Any selfhosted alternative to ApiFlash?
Hello. I'm currently using apiflash to grab pictures from several sites and I love its simplicity (a REST-API you can invoke from curl and build your request on their site). The only downside is that their free plan is a little scarce and only allows 100 requests per month. Do you know of any selfhosted alternative? Source: over 4 years ago
