Given the self-paced nature of the course, learners need to be disciplined and motivated to make consistent progress without the structure of traditional classroom settings.
  • Limited Interaction with Instructors
While there is expert guidance available, the online format might limit direct interactions with instructors compared to in-person learning environments.
  • Variable Internet Access
A reliable internet connection is necessary to access course materials, which may be a challenge for learners in areas with unstable connectivity.

  • No active development
The software appears to be an older or niche project that may not receive regular updates, bug fixes, or security patches, potentially leaving vulnerabilities unaddressed.
  • Limited documentation and support
As a small, free utility, SimpleCipherText likely has minimal documentation, no dedicated support team, and a small user community, making troubleshooting difficult.

With RefactoringUI and Erik's course, I think the 3rd I would use to complete my top 3 is Shift Nudge (https://shiftnudge.com/). There's a fair amount of overlap between all of them, so if you want to Pareto minmax it, I would recommend starting with Refactoring UI, which should help provide practical solutions to many situations and get rid of the most egregious horrors you might commit.
