Alright. Mind if I check with you a couple weeks from now to see how this turns out for you? I've never heard of box.com. I'm checking out their website now. Source: about 3 years ago
You would be surprised how stupid Label employees can be, they even give stuff that is "confidential" to unpaid interns to post on their internal pages like box.com or their disco.ac pages. I've seen so many demos, instrumentals and albums posted somewhere public because they got someone to do a half assed job at it. Source: about 3 years ago
I often use dropbox, box.com or google drive for files/folders I want the share between my Ubuntu laptop and server, I also do the same with a local server drive - the cloud services are handy if I'm not at home and need to access something. Source: about 3 years ago
Hi, looks like im using too many API calls from my box.com account. Source: about 3 years ago

As desribed the job could be done for around 90% in around 20 hours (box.com and calculations could require additional time). Source: about 3 years ago
A lot of dropbox suggestions, but I much prefer box.com - it has a killer feature of treating a folder like a playlist. With dropbox you can only listen to one track at a time then have to navigate back to folder and select the next one. Box will play them all in order like a playlist (on the mobile app). Looking for an open spot on a box.com account, not sure I want to front the full $60USD. Willing to pay via PayPal monthly. Source: about 3 years ago
Because of going full remote, we don't want anything on-prem anymore, and we really don't have any need. Our AD use cases are very basic (basically just login, we barely use group policy) not using any SMB shares anymore (all on box.com) no printers or anything. We have a VPN appliance but will probably figure out some solution for our gatewayed resources that doesn't involve a vpn, or use a software one. Source: about 3 years ago
Google Drive, specifically Google Shared Drives will likely do what you need. It also has the benefit that you can cut the cost of box.com without incurring any additional operational expense. Source: about 3 years ago
I have noticed it is possible to use webdav to host the Zotero Library and I'm using box.com at the moment but I don't know how long they are going to support webdav connection, so I was wondering if there was any good cloud service that has official webdav support that any of you commonly use. You should be able to connect to box.com via WebDAV, but according to this information they do not actively support the WebDAV interface anymore and just provide it "as it is". So you may be unlucky as well. Source: over 3 years ago
Most people think of Dropbox or Google Drive for sharing files, but you know what enterprises use surprisingly often? Box. - Source: dev.to / over 3 years ago
Hello There. I have a client that I have never worked with before that has asked me to advise them on modernising their IdP. They currently have a combination of Active Directory, synching to AzureAD, but using ADFS for Auth. In addition to using ADFS for 365 authentication, they are also using several other applications (box.com for example) as well as using LDAP against the on-prem for some on-prem apps. I know they can track what is put on and off of our box.com servers, but can they see what I have downloaded from my personal database separate from the company? Source: over 3 years ago
However, how does the service provider (box.com) know to use your Identity Provider (https://okta.mycompany.com/) instead of another company's Identity Provider? Do you put a drop down to select an organization to log in with? This approach has the disadvantage of letting the world know who does business with you, as well as having some pretty bad UX - think of a drop down that would need thousands of entries to... Box, a prominent player in the cloud storage and file-sharing landscape, primarily appeals to business and enterprise users seeking robust collaboration and productivity features. The general public perception is that Box offers a comprehensive set of tools designed for professional environments, distinguishing itself from competitors such as Dropbox and Google Drive, which often target broader consumer bases.
Public reviews frequently praise Box for its seamless integration capabilities. With support for over 1,000 applications, including Microsoft Office 365, Google Workspace, and Salesforce, Box enables users to edit and manage documents directly within the platform without switching applications. This integration extends to Slack and Adobe Sign, making Box highly attractive for businesses that rely on these ecosystems. Its workflow automation feature, Box Relay, and Box Sign for e-signatures, enhances the platform's utility for enterprise customers.
Box is specifically lauded for its collaboration features, such as real-time editing and commenting, which facilitate efficient teamwork. The platform's user-friendly interface is highlighted, with a straightforward link-sharing system enabling file transfers without the need for recipient accounts, adding to its accessibility. However, there's a noted limitation on the free plan, which imposes a file size cap of 250 MBโviewed as a disadvantage when compared to other services that offer larger file transfers for free.
Box stands out in the domain of security and compliance, with features like data encryption, HIPAA/FedRAMP compliance, and AI-powered threat detection, positioning it as a reliable option for industries with stringent data protection requirements. The platformโs robust user management features, such as SSO and Active Directory integration, further fortify its security posture, catering well to enterprise-level clients.
While Box is recognized for its powerful capabilities, it is often perceived as a premium service, and some users express concerns over its pricing structure, which may be cost-prohibitive for smaller businesses. That said, dedicated customer support, including phone assistance, provides value for those willing to invest in its paid tiers. Box's free 10GB storage offering provides a taste of its service, but limitations may drive users to consider paid options for fuller functionality.
Community feedback highlights several technical aspects, like API usage and WebDAV support, which some users find lacking or poorly documented. Despite these areas for improvement, Box generally receives favorable reviews for its cross-platform synchronization and mobile app capabilities, supporting a wide range of devices and operating systems, including Linux, which sets it apart as a versatile solution.
In conclusion, Box is consistently viewed as a top-tier solution for businesses prioritizing collaboration, integration, and security. While its focus on enterprise users and associated costs may deter casual consumers, for organizations seeking a robust, all-in-one content management solution, Box remains a formidable choice.
