I'm still happy with Apple Notes for its integration with all of Apple Apps, easy sharing with family members, etc. I have tamed it more as an ephemeral and quick Notes App. The notes that starts there are usually transferred to a more permanent and organized Plain-Text setup[1] (currently guardian-ed by Obsidian). If I had to replace Apple Notes, I'd look at either one of these; - https://simplenote.com -... - Source: Hacker News / 16 days ago

Long time Bear user for notes. Love it and happily pay the few bucks for premium. Source: 5 months ago
Hey! I want to create a WYSIWYG Markdown editor similar to the one in the Bear app. I understand that this could be a challenging project. As I have very little experience with iOS/Swift (I'm an ML engineer), I just need an overview of the tools/frameworks I should consider using to build this technology. Any advice would be appreciated. Source: 5 months ago
Recently, I've figured out Bear, a minimalistic yet beautiful Markdown note-taking app through another topic here. I can not recommend it more, it does its job really well in this manner. So, I'd like to enrich my macOS experience by getting recommendations from this great community. Do you know any other macOS app that is both minimalistic and stylish? If so, please let me know. Bear looks pretty neat and I’ve been close to switching to it (from Apple Notes) for a while. Markdown is attractive and you can export from Apple Notes. Not sure how you export from Evernote though. As an aside, the idea of ‘Evernote’ going away is darkly amusing given the name. https://apps.apple.com/nz/app/exporter/id1099120373?mt=12 https://bear.app/. - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago

Bear. Extremely fast and efficient notes system. Organize using nested hash tags, something that is likely to appeal to developers. Supports code blocks with syntax highlighting for most languages. I organize personal documentation here. Source: 12 months ago
I have been closely watching Notesknook & Bear (Bear 2 launch is almost a month away), both are more private (Compared to Evernote) and cheaper. Source: 12 months ago
No, it has no planner features, although you can do "to dos". It's a Markdown notes app (https://bear.app). In its current state, I like to think of it as "Obsidian light", but a new version is coming soon adding a lot of features that will make it a closer competitor to Obsidian. I currently use Obsidian, but I've kept my Bear subscription because it's a reasonable price ($16/year) and I'm curious to see what the... Source: 12 months ago

I use Bear, but I really wish it had a Windows app too. Easily syncing notes between all my iOS devices and my mac is super useful though. I usually only use my windows PC for gaming, so don't really need it there. Source: about 1 year ago
