  • Yabai – A tiling window manager for macOS
I use AltTab [0] for this. I find using a mac without it horrendous. [0]: https://alt-tab-macos.netlify.app/. - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago
  • No Bing, no Edge, no upselling: De-crufted Windows 11 coming to Europe soon
I know of this app which allows you to port that functionality: https://alt-tab-macos.netlify.app/ Disclaimer: I have never used it, one of my colleagues mentioned it a while ago. - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago
  • Collection of "Today I Learned" notes
If you're using a Mac, I really recommend alt-tab https://alt-tab-macos.netlify.app/. I love cmd+tab on a mac to switch between applications, but I was missing a feature to switch between windows of the same application. Alt+tab solves that in the same manner Windows does. - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago
  • On Desktop GUI Minimalism
I know this isn’t the point of your post, but in case it helps your experience in MacOS: 1. You can change the setting so that workspaces do not change their position/order. See: https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/214348/how-to-prevent-mac-from-changing-the-order-of-desktops-spaces 2. The third party app “alt-tab” provides an alt tab experience that is much better than the native one, and is likely more... - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago
  • Ask HN: What GNOME Shell extensions do you use?
There's likely a delay so that you can use Alt-Tab to quickly go back to your last window without the pop-up showing. I use AltTab on macOS like this, which has a configurable delay. https://alt-tab-macos.netlify.app/. - Source: Hacker News / 9 months ago
  • It's been almost 9 months since Ventura was released. What's your thoughts about "Stage Manager"?
I've been using AltTab (https://alt-tab-macos.netlify.app/) , which has been a really nice experience. Source: 10 months ago
  • Window manager that behaves like on WindowsOS?
On mac, we have many options respectively for these two steps. For the first one, you can use Alt-Tab, or you may use another one written by me called Oliver (It still has some bugs, but I like it). The main difference is that Oliver can choose multiple windows a time, which is to some extent similar to your description, while Alt-Tab can do only one but goes much faster and natively. • Some people don't know about macOS split views (like Windows window snapping) so here's how to do it
Which they should fix, but for those that might not still have found it - https://alt-tab-macos.netlify.app/ is the way to go. Source: 11 months ago
  • What do you think is the "quirkiest" feature on the Mac?
Also, if you prefer not to close the entire app but instead want to close just a window, then I recommend AltTab. Now, the instructions say the same but you can use option instead of command. Source: 11 months ago
