Google Messages [free] isn't a competitor to any of the apps previously mentioned. Though I included it in the recommendation since it handles the SMS/MMS part from the PC and is super easy to setup.

Join [30-day trial, $5 one time purchase] does almost everything Pushbullet does + a few extras. It can initiate/answer/end calls from your PC but you need to pick up your phone (unless you have wired/bt headphones connected to the phone). The call interface is a bit clunky but functional. All of this works over the internet, though with local wifi certain things work better (faster file transfers).
