Ubuntu Kernel Update and ZFS Not Working

NomadBSD Illumos
  1. NomadBSD is a persistent live system for USB flash drives, based on FreeBSD.
    Pricing:
    • Open Source
If you're a general desktop Linux person I would check out GhostBSD or NomadBSD — they are both based on FreeBSD though (which is not so hard to get GUI on top of).

  2. Illumos is a derivative of OS/Net (aka ON), which basically is a Solaris/ https://alternativeto.
    Pricing:
    • Open Source
For even tighter integration go for something illumos based. Here there's even fewer devs and drivers than BSD. Seems like the better the tech, the fewer users/devs/drivers.
