If you know any android users willing to put in some extra legwork (and some money to buy an old mac mini) highly recommend checking out AirMessage they have an accompanying android app that lets you use imessage on android by forwarding the messages through a mac mini. Or any mac really. Source: 12 months ago
AirMessage lets me view and send text messages via iMessage from my Windows PC. Source: 12 months ago
I highly recommend setting up either BlueBubbles or AirMessage so that you're able to utilize iMessage on your Pixel. Source: about 1 year ago
Can't vouch for how privacy respecting it is but there's an app called Air Message that basically is a messenger app that relays to a apple server that you make by putting a piece of software on a mac mini that you have at home which then forwards all your imessages to the recipients, apparently it uses tls encryption. You can set up iMessage on the pixel and not carry two phones https://airmessage.org/ I set up my MacBook Air as a server and just keep it running at home since it’s old and never use it. Source: about 1 year ago
Unless you're willing to set up a virtual machine to run macOS, you can't. If you are, you can use this guide on how to set up the VM. After that, it's just a matter of whether or not you want to use AirMessageor Blue Bubbles to use iMessage on Android or Windows. Source: about 1 year ago
Also, if you have access to Mac or a Mac virtual machine, you could always just install iMessage on your phone, too. Source: about 1 year ago
If you have a Mac computer, you could set up your own server with airmessage. Https://airmessage.org/. Source: about 1 year ago

Yeah so I'm an Android user and I had purchased mine to run Airmessage so it really wasn't doing much. The hardware transcoding capabilities are amazing (if you have plex pass). If it's just sitting there doing barely anything else, I'd say it's worth a try. I have my media on a machine running Unraid and I mount a network share on the mini running plex. I made the switch about 2 months ago and have been pretty... Source: over 1 year ago
Sure there is - you'll have to do it yourself, but check out https://airmessage.org - built by an 18 year old canadian. It lets you "use" imessages on android and / or a web client. I don't think it's open source, but I bet you could do something like set it up, set up the web client, and use something to scrape the web client for your messages. I don't think it's any kind of security hole at all. It doesn't let... Source: over 1 year ago
If you'd like something like that check out AirMessage https://airmessage.org/. Source: over 1 year ago
If they want to keep using iPhones and iMessage there are also apps like AirMessage (free, but requires a constantly running mac) and Beeper (paid, but works out of the box). As to answer your question, it depends, for some the RCS experience is flawless, but there are also reports of messages not being delivered or downgraded to SMS/MMS for no reason. AirMessage (version 3.5.2-fdroid): Use iMessage on your Android phone! (Mac computer required). Source: over 1 year ago
If you have access to any Mac computer and have an Apple account, you can still iMessage them by running a simple server on the Mac. AirMessage has made huge strides in the years I've been using it. If you have any questions on how to set it up or use it, let me know. I've used it to iMessage my friends from my Pixel phones for years and still use it to this day. Source: over 1 year ago
I was thinking of using it as an air message server as well would it be possible to do that on Linux? Https://airmessage.org/. Source: over 1 year ago
