  • About Google Chrome's "This extension may soon no longer be supported"
Safari's ad-blocking abilities are no more potent than what Chrome's Manifest v3 gives you. In fact, the changes in MV3 were inspired by Safari. I used to work adjacent to a team working on anti-ad-blocking tech. Safari's protections are fairly easy to circumvent, with Adblock Plus not being great either. It was uBlock Origin that was making this team sweat, and they didn't even bother with it. The reason is that... - Source: Hacker News / 2 months ago
  • [DISC] Survival Story of a Sword King in a Fantasy World Chapter 172 | Leviatan Scans
You can also use something like AdGuard (Android/iOS) to block the ads on your phone. It's free. I personally used it and saw no ads on the site. Pretty easy to set up, too. You may need to tweak the filters a bit, though. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • ad blocks for android phone apps?
Find Private DNS in Settings, enable it and enter custom provider, either dns.adguard-dns.com or p2.freedns.controld.com should do the trick. If you need more control and filtering, https://adguard.com/en/adguard-android/overview.html. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Using NetGuard over Blokada 5
The Github release of NetGuard can do filtering with host file by itself https://github.com/M66B/NetGuard/blob/master/ADBLOCKING.md, another option is AdGuard app https://adguard.com/en/adguard-android/overview.html. Source: about 2 years ago

Or use something like https://adguard.com/en/adguard-android/overview.html or https://adaway.org/ or https://blokada.org/. Source: about 2 years ago
  • ad guard down?
If it's in Private DNS settings, does it work when you try switching to other DoT provider like say, p2.freedns.controld.com or adblock.doh.mullvad.net? If they all also fail, then your network block DoT and you need to use DoH either with AdGuard app or others like Nebulo or Intra. Source: about 2 years ago

  • Question about a log entry
Https://adguard.com/en/adguard-android/overview.html, not the content blocker nor the VPN. Unfortunately, it will hog the VPN interface so I guess you have no choice if you still need your current VPN, just block the domain and see if an essential app craps out. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Can someone explain why do people seem to prefer Reverse Proxy instead of VPN?
I use AdGuard for non-root ad blocking on my phone, and it uses the VPN service (even though it's not a VPN that connects to anywhere) to funnel data through the app. Source: over 2 years ago
  • AdBlocking
It most certainly does work with Chrome. Download direct from their website and sideload it (does not need to be rooted). Https://adguard.com/en/adguard-android/overview.html. Source: over 2 years ago

AdGuard app (from https://adguard.com/en/adguard-android/overview.html, not from Play Store) with HTTPS filtering can handle adblocking on any browser, and is as effective as uBO. Source: over 2 years ago

  • Google is cracking down on Android Adblockers
Adguard adblocker for Android works also with the VPN principle and is not on the Play Store for a while already. They are amazing and if you use an Android browser without internal adblocking (which I still think is better) such a VPN adblocker is a must for Android devices. I only had to whitelist a few applications like e.g. Google Photos https://adguard.com/en/adguard-android/overview.html. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago

On Android, Reddit Sync with the option to remove ads (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.laurencedawson.reddit_sync). Or alternatively, AdGuard for full system ad blocking (https://adguard.com/en/adguard-android/overview.html). License keys can be found at a discount, and used across multiple devices. • War on Ads
Depends on the apps you're using. Ublock Origin on Firefox or AdGuard app (this version, not the PlayStore version) can block almost all ads on webpages if you add the appropriate filters, but for in-app ads like YouTube, Reddit or social media apps, find an alternative client that doesn't serve ads. Here's instructions for Windows, MacOS and Android. I'd also recommend just using AdGuard for Android devices as it uses a local DNS to block ads, trackers, etc and forwards legitimate requests to a DNS service of your choice. (Adguards own DNS, Cloudflare, Google, etc). Source: about 3 years ago
  • mobileconfig.sascdn.com
Https://domain.glass/mobileconfig.sascdn.com indicate it's an ad server. You can just install the AdGuard app https://adguard.com/en/adguard-android/overview.html to get the same logging and filtering capability anywhere you are. If no attempt were made when you're using mobile data, it's possible your sync setting only allows syncing on wifi, or the app you use is only triggered to dowload ads on wifi.
