I recommend 1Blocker. One feature that is rarely mentioned is they can also block some ads in apps and not just Safari, by using a VPN profile which filters trackers locally. https://1blocker.com. - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
Hush is one of the extensions on my devices, but both Hush and AdGuard Pro take a back seat to: A) 1Blocker: https://1blocker.com/ B) Orion Browser by Kagi: https://browser.kagi.com/ The first brings all the blocking customisation one needs to MacOS and iOS Safari, the other runs Firefox and Chrome extensions such as uBlock Origin: https://browser.kagi.com/faq.html#extensions. - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
You can run 1Blocker[0] on both Mac and iOS. You can also pair it with NextDNS[1] if you want even more blocking. [0] https://1blocker.com/. - Source: Hacker News / 11 months ago
I pay for 1Blocker - though a free version is available (App Store link). Source: about 1 year ago
Any of the ad blockers that install a VPN on your phone, like 1Blocker will block in-app ads. Source: about 1 year ago
For everybody else, install an ad blocker. I use the free ublock origin on chrome, and for all my iOS needs I use 1Blocker. 1Blocker Pro also sets up a local-only VPN config which allows it to block ads in all apps across the entire iOS, even non-browser apps. Source: about 1 year ago
Https://1blocker.com/ Is a system wide ad blocker. It’s not uBlock Origin in terms of coverage, but extremely close and it work on all apps. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
The only thing I can think of is that I use 1Blocker in Safari and on my phone. It uses a VPN-based firewall on iOS app tracking. I don't like when apps fingerprint me or try to log my location or how often I open their apps. Maybe the way the app does this is tripping some security check, or maybe the data collecting itself is the price of admission and that's why they say I'm breaking terms. Source: about 1 year ago
Yes there are Safari extensions you download from the app store. I like 1Blocker: https://1blocker.com. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
I use 1Blocker, but it's up to everyone to choose what to use. Source: about 1 year ago
I personally go with a combination of iCloud Private Relay, iCloud Hide my Email, Cryptomator and 1Blocker or NextDNS. Source: over 1 year ago
1Blocker isn't bad, it is a nice balance of being configurable and powerful and is reasonably priced. Or at least it was, I'm on a legacy plan and haven't looked lately. Source: over 1 year ago
Content blockers such as 1Blocker work fairly well for Safari, but I'm trying to block ads and trackers system-wide. Source: over 1 year ago
I was interested in AdGuard so I recently tried its Pro version and compared it to 1Blocker, which I have been using for the past few years. Source: over 1 year ago
I've been looking at VPN offers, mainly for privacy concerns, but non of them seem to completely block ads, which means I would still need a system-wide ad blocker (I'm currently using 1Blocker on iOS and macOS). Source: over 1 year ago

Latest https://1blocker.com does come with the option to block YouTube ads while using the mobile site. Don’t think it works if you use the app though. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago

Firefox is my main browser as well (I try to use Safari on and off but have to jump out from time to time because something is broken -- this time it's Bitwarden's keyboard shortcut), however speaking of uBlock Origin, there's a viable Safari alternative (of course not free, because it's the Apple world ;) ), namely 1Blocker. It works on both macOS and iOS and is pretty neat. It works differently than uBlock... Source: almost 2 years ago
