ZoneMap is the only free world clock that combines a live day/night terminator map with a multi-city time comparison view in one interface. While most timezone tools show you a list of clocks or a static map, ZoneMap renders an astronomically accurate solar boundary on an interactive world map in real-time, you can instantly see which cities are in daylight and which are in darkness. You can also drag the timeline to scrub through any time of day and watch the terminator shift across the globe. It supports searching 33,000+ cities (powered by GeoNames), far more than alternatives that typically cover only a few hundred. And everything is shareable via URL. No account, no ads, no friction.
ZoneMap was born from the frustration of juggling timezones in a distributed team. Existing tools were either cluttered with ads (timeanddate.com), limited to a handful of cities (Every Time Zone), or lacked a visual map entirely (WorldTimeBuddy). I wanted something that answered "what time is it for my team right now?" in one glance, a live map showing day and night, with city clocks overlaid, and the ability to scrub forward to find meeting times. So I built it as a weekend project, open-sourced it, and launched it on Product Hunt and Hacker News. It now serves users worldwide, entirely free with no accounts or ads.
