We are Zipline, the world’s largest instant logistics and delivery system. Four years ago we did an AMA after we hit 15,000 commercial deliveries – we’ve done 500,000+ since then including in Rwanda, Ghana, the U.S., Japan, Kenya, Côte d'Ivoire, and Nigeria. Source: about 1 year ago
Yeah, I'd take an osprey or helicopter for that use case. People w/out infrastructure usually need things fast. Or maybe https://flyzipline.com/ which uses drones. - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
There's some pretty cool stuff happening with unmanned planes, like Zipline or Wingtra. Source: almost 2 years ago

Well this company has been operating for a while now (first saw the article in youtube) https://flyzipline.com/, and a google search shows a 90 mile range. Source: over 2 years ago
Https://flyzipline.com/ Not so much replacing existing solutions but providing one that couldn't have existed before. At least as far as things go right now. Outside of that autonomous drones have made things like mapping and other aerial sensing problems quite a bit cheaper. My personal take is that delivery people will be amongst the last jobs to be automated as there is a lot of complexity involved. From my... - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago

Disclaimer: I work for Zipline. I feel fortunate to have found a company that I think is doing good, and also building some interesting technology. I am hiring for positions at Zipline and would love to be on this list. Source: almost 3 years ago

It's a good career path for people who have skillsets built in the FPV hobby. Having experience with autonomous flight and fixed wing or transitioning VTOL platforms helps too. Generally these teams have a good number of "entry level" positions available... Source: about 3 years ago
