7. You.com AI, Perplexity.ai (for research). - Source: dev.to / about 1 year ago
Role Play (fail): After Perplexity hardened their prompt safety, it became much harder to get Claude to reveal the system prompt. It kept telling me it was a model pre-trained and did not have any prompt. I tried role-playing with Claude in a virtual world, but Claude refused to create something similar to Perplexity or you.com in the virtual world. I even told Claude that I worked at Perplexity, and it still... - Source: dev.to / about 2 years ago
You: Last but not least, You.com empowers users to take control of their digital experiences with personalized AI assistants. By understanding individual preferences and behaviors, You.com offers personalized recommendations, streamlines tasks, and provides valuable insights, making everyday interactions more efficient and enjoyable. - Source: dev.to / about 2 years ago
Do we need some way to grade these services based on vertical or use-case? I actually tried the same tech questions to multiple services when I first started playing around with these commercial LLMs. I would copy and paste the same question to GPT4, MS Bing (I soon stopped using that since I already have a sub to gpt4), claude, bard, and recently You (https://you.com) and while Claude.ai was rarely as good as... - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago

I am myself in one of these countries, but I also care about my privacy, so I use services that use chatGPT indirectly instead: https://you.com with disposable email and https://phind.com. - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
I have been using it for 3 weeks and decided to go back to google. The keyboard shortcuts are limited. I wish I could do a code search, as in results relating to a coding question, with a shortcut. There's also no infinite scroll that loads the next page of results automatically. I have to painfully click "display more results" every time. These 2 things made me go back. I just uninstalled the you.com chrome... Source: almost 3 years ago
Bots are taking over reddit. This sub as well. If you don't believe that bots can appear convincingly as humans online, talk to Bing's ai, the ai at you.com -site, Claude 2 or chatgpt. And they're only getting better and seemingly more deceptive. Source: almost 3 years ago
I don't even use GPT only you.com chat. Same thing but by Salesforce. Source: about 3 years ago

You - A search engine that summarizes the best parts of the internet for you, with private ads and with privacy options. Their AI will help you find the most relevant results from the web and apps that you can sort and prioritize for optimum search experience. They also have an app. Source: about 3 years ago
It's odd, of all the real-time data chatbots, I think the one on you.com gives the best answers even though it technically runs on a version of 3.5 . Either way, Bing is too slow and I don't need a GPT-4 response for everything I would otherwise google. Source: about 3 years ago
Sign up for a free account and start using you.com. You can keep up with your chats. I like it a little bit better than Chatgpt. Source: about 3 years ago
YouChat on you.com technically runs on some modified version of 3.5, but I find it gives the best answers. My best AI advice is to get the you.com chrome extension and set YouChat as your default search. Makes you insanely productive. Source: about 3 years ago
Gocharlie.ai is the best site for Jasper-type stuff, but the chatbot on you.com will give up-to-date info and is more accurate than Bard, so you can ask that about any other kinds of sites you need. Source: about 3 years ago

Talking about recipes and possible alterations is one of the things The search-bot at you.com is actually good at and will do without constantly accusing you of being immoral, unethical, and disrespectful. However Youbot lacks the personality of even the most basic bot on character.ai. Source: about 3 years ago
I think writesonic just released a chatbot with the functionality to answer questions based off documents you give it. Not sure how well it works or how many inputs it could take. You might just wanna test all the ai text to voice generators and pay for the one you like. Probably like 25ish a month maybe more alltogether. You.com has emerged in the ever-evolving landscape of digital search engines and AI tools as a notable player, positioning itself as a potential alternative to industry giants like Google. Specializing in providing user-centric experiences through customizable and privacy-focused services, You.com has carved a niche in several key categories, including privacy, developer tools, AI, search engine efficiency, and web application utility.
A distinguishing feature of You.com is its commitment to user privacy, a feature increasingly sought after in today's data-driven environment. The platform allows users to maintain control over their digital experiences while benefiting from personalized AI assistants that adapt to individual needs and preferences. This personalization extends to offering insightful recommendations and streamlining tasks, making You.com an appealing choice for users prioritizing efficiency and privacy.
Many tech enthusiasts and everyday users mention You.com positively when discussing alternatives to traditional search engines like Google and Bing. It is often noted for its ability to provide real-time data chatbot capabilities, and users have remarked favorably on its efficiency, even when running on modified versions of GPT-3.5, contrasting it against the sometimes cumbersome nature of competitive services like Bing.
You.com's versatility is illustrated through product mentions across various contexts. For example, it is frequently recommended as a useful tool for students and professionals exploring AI's capabilities, including summarizing web content and improving productivity through efficient search and integration with other AI tools. Notably, discussions about You.com often spotlight its potential for developing niche applications, with users looking forward to features that allow for the creation and sharing of personalized You.com apps.
Despite these advantages, feedback isn't universally positive. Some users have expressed frustration with certain UI elements, such as limited keyboard shortcuts and the absence of features like infinite scrolling. These limitations have led some users back to more established platforms, suggesting You.com has areas for UX improvement to better meet competitive standards.
Moreover, while You.com garners attention as a promising AI-powered tool, it must continue to navigate the competitive landscape, facing off against a variety of offerings like Perplexity.ai, Brave Search, DuckDuckGo, and Kagi, all of which vie for attention in the digital privacy and search engine spaces.
Overall, You.com is seen as an innovative contender in the realm of privacy-centric and personalized digital tools. While it has garnered a positive response for its user-driven approach and AI functionalities, it also faces ongoing challenges in refining its features and competing with longstanding industry leaders. Its capacity to address these challenges effectively will determine its ability to sustain growth and appeal among tech-savvy users and privacy advocates alike.
