  • How is FreeSync under Linux?
Any specifics on which games? Does it work on any game? I tested Xonotic on a 144Hz monitor the other day and the highest FPS I got to see was ~90 with no tearing on Kubuntu liveiso but I was using Intel kaby lake integrated graphics, so I assume FreeSync was not at play here, even though the monitor supported it. • NVIDIA On-Demand profile mode issues
I got my infinitybook 16 pro performance edition with RTX 3060 and I am pretty happy with it so far. However, I did run into an issue. I want to use PRIME for switchable graphics to not worry about rebooting when I need to switch to battery. However, I noticed that I run into issues when using that. Particularly, some of my games straight up freeze when I run them through the render offload. Particularly Xonotic... Source: over 1 year ago
  • netplus down since 3 days?
If possible can you download xonotic and check the ping in feris and zero servers ? (https://xonotic.org/) Just check the pings, nothing more. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Every time I play Unreal Tournament '99, I'm amazed at just how well it holds up.
Xonotic is an actively maintained free-software FPS in the tradition of Quake and Unreal Tournament. It runs on a descendant of the Quake engine, in fact. I recommend it. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Best Freeware/Open Source Lowend Games 2022 **Please add your favorites!**
Xonotic Open source FPS game, good graphics but also low system requirements. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Have you ever arrived too late to a free-to-play game that ended up dying?
There are a few smaller community-driven ones like Xonotic or Warfork. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Is Xonotic port possible?

  • Ask HN: Favourite Open Source Game?
One the mobile side there is Shattered Pixel Dungeon[2], also to be found on F-Droid. The polish behind that project is insane for something FOSS and the hours I put into it are something to be embarrassed about. [1] https://xonotic.org/. - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
  • Xonotic support?
It would be great if we could get a game handler for the free open source arena shooter Xonotic. It already supports multiple instances, so all it needs is to be able to reroute inputs and such. It is genuinely my favorite game right now And I would love to play split screen with some friends. Game website. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Windows 11 for gaming
Although I don't often play E-Sports, I like other games (such as 3D, flight sim, etc.). Lately one game I've been playing is Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, and that runs fine on Windows 11. A couple others I've played recently are Minecraft and Xonotic, which also run without any problems. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Looking for (free and easy) LAN party games
Xonotic. It's effectively an open source Unreal Tournament clone. Source: about 2 years ago
  • What do you guys do on Mint?
I also have Mint installed on my main desktop at home. I've played some games on it, and with the games I've played I think it works fairly well (though since I've installed Mint on my main desktop, I've mainly played Xonotic and X-Plane 11 on it. I mainly use Windows on my desktop PC though, since most of the games & other apps I use all have a Windows version. I also like Mixcraft (though I haven't used it in... Source: about 2 years ago
  • High School LAN Gaming + Mods
You can try Xonotic (FPS GAME but at least try it), Minetest (Minecraft clone). Minecraft is a great game to play with more than 25 Players, even because hosting a Minecraft server with Plugins and other fancy stuff is really easy to set up. Source: about 2 years ago
  • LiBlast: A Libre Multiplayer FPS Game Built with Godot 4 and Blender
I have played Xonotic[0] for some time and it's a lot of fun. As far as I know it's entirely libre. [0] https://xonotic.org/. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
  • Distro for gaming and learning game development?
However, for native FPS linux games, xonotic is quite cool. You should also check out protondb to see list of games. I know CS:GO works very well and could be natively linux although since it's a valve game, it doesn't matter as it should be well supported in linux, natively or with proton. If that's not your thing then Team fortress 2 and Left 4 dead are good option also. At least tf2 and lfd 1 should work on... Source: about 2 years ago
  • Native Casual Multiplayer
Zero-K of strategies Warsow or better yet Xonotic for online FPS. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Best option for work LAN party?
Https://xonotic.org/ does all of this. Source: about 2 years ago
  • What are the best free pc games no one talks about?
Xonotic Is a FOSS arena shooter that's pretty fun. Source: over 2 years ago
  • The Future Of 1047
This is why I like Splitgate. It is Linux native. I also like it because it is crossplatform. I play with a controller so playing an arena type shooter like Xonotic isn't much fun aginst and small experienced player base on KBM. I like that on controller I'm not an anomaly with Splitgate.
