You can usually find resources for whether any particular device does or doesn't allow this by looking around on the LineageOS site or the now-legendary XDA Forum. Source: over 1 year ago
Yeah this would be the wrong sub for that question. My suggestion would be to the XDA Developers forum for your specific phone. If someone has accomplished what you want to do, you're going to find out about it there. Source: over 1 year ago
Maybe try r/AndroidRoms or r/CustomRoms? Though you're probably just better off at https://forum.xda-developers.com/. Source: over 1 year ago
Look at xda-developers.com forums on how to install a downloaded official or custom ROM for newer OS. Download official ROMS from https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares and search for the latest T-Mobile (TMB) or USA (XAA) one for your exact model #. It may matter if the model ends in a U or U1, but is best to install the U1 model to override the U model to make your phone unbranded and get updates automatically. Or... Source: over 1 year ago

You can install an android ROM that's based on a newer android version, just search for your device here I installed android 9 on a 2015 phone that way That phone had android 5 too But I can't guarantee that your phone will have an android 9 ROM, since those ROMs are made by volunteers in their free time. First and most importantly, search https://forum.xda-developers.com for your phone model, then browse through the forums for a guide on how to root it. Follow that guide, and you should be fine. If there is no guide, it probably can't be done on your phone. If you try to follow a guide for a different device, you may permanently destroy your phone, so don't do that. Or you can hop over to XDA Developers and find tons of people into that sort of thing with tons of detailed information and instructions. https://forum.xda-developers.com/. Source: almost 2 years ago
If you buy an unlocked phone, the phone manufacturer has a way for you to unlock the bootloader. Check https://forum.xda-developers.com/ for specific phone info. Source: almost 2 years ago
I have been flashing ROMs on most of my devices for years and would say it is a good option as well. Plain Android itself can be pretty minimal and depending on your device there can be a wide variety of options. The XDA forums are usually a good place for finding a ROM for your device - googling "(my device) xda" gets you there quick. Source: almost 2 years ago
Instructions how to root device typically can be found at https://forum.xda-developers.com/. You will need a computer. Source: almost 2 years ago
Your TV's manufacturer chose not to go with a Google compliant version of Android OS and thus doesn't have the necessary Google Play libraries needed for the true Googe Play Store and other Google apps. You will need to find a way to side load the necessary libraries and APK files, unfortunately I have no clue where to start. Maybe try https://forum.xda-developers.com/. Source: almost 2 years ago

You will probably find better advice in here https://forum.xda-developers.com/. Source: almost 2 years ago

Https://forum.xda-developers.com/ another good buyers guide. Source: about 2 years ago
Well it will be hard. I've never heard of this device or even the company. I don't think there are 3rd Partys hosting those images. Are there custom Roms on XDA ? If not, your only option may be creating your own. If you're lucky, there is a LineageOS port for your phone. If not, you should invest a hell of time and learn programming. So it's not worth it.
