Interestingly, some apps I've been using since 2014, like iA Writer (which I'm using to write this post) and Buffer. I'll talk about both of them in a moment, but first, I want to talk about another tool that's crucial to my setup: SetApp (horrible pun, but I couldn't resist). - Source: dev.to / 5 months ago
While writing this post, I decided to test a few writing apps. I mainly used iA Writer, but I also downloaded Paper, Ulysses, and Scrivener. Distraction-free writing is amazing. I can configure my Vim and Obsidian to look and feel similar. Wait… What am I doing? - Source: dev.to / 10 months ago
I’ve been using iA Writer on a Mac and an iPad for many years, and I think it’s the best app for writing Markdown. - Source: dev.to / about 1 year ago

For longer articles / assignments I use iA writer, it helps me focus a lot, then I copy it into MSWord for final touches - style, font, sources, etc. Source: over 1 year ago

iA Writer is a good one. It really gets out of your way and lets you focus on writing. Source: almost 2 years ago
IA Writer has a very nice grammar and phrasing tool built into it as does a nice webapp called Hemmingway. Source: almost 2 years ago
> This should be automatized by writing tools. Ia Writer¹ does it. It visually strikes out and greys out the words “simply” and “just” as part of its style check for fillers. ¹ https://ia.net/writer. - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago

I want something with so few features that it's frustrating. Right now I'm looking into iA Writer and it's good but it's a little jerky/buggy in some spots. It also still does bold, italics, etc. Source: about 2 years ago
iA writer has English syntax highlighting. Source: about 2 years ago

Is iA Writer one that uses Markdown XL? I honestly do not know the specific version it uses, but it does have library support with Dropbox. Source: over 2 years ago
How long are your typical entries? I think I shortchange myself with a false ceiling. That also may come with consitnecy. I use iA Writer as my instrument of death. Source: over 2 years ago
I use iAWriter! It’s a markdown word processor that focuses on a clean/distraction-free interface. If you’re the kind of person who will literally write in a notepad file because everything else is too distracting, this is the app for you. It has some other great features too like a lightweight style checker and the ability to export to HTML for easy AO3 posting. Source: over 2 years ago
