Just plain /r/windows10ltsc and https://wpd.app/ are good enough for me. Source: 5 months ago
I stayed on Windows 10, last updates plus use https://wpd.app/ WPD app and block updates and now Im happy. I even run new drivers and still happy because windows always install very old drivers that make some issues for my system, now it's OK but need to block updates. To prevent, install old one. I used Windows10Debloater and WPD, not sure which one removed Edge though. Source: 11 months ago
Then run Windows Privacy Dashboard and disable everything and grab the latest copy of MS telemetry hosts to block in your hosts file. Source: 11 months ago
After updates use that app https://wpd.app/ and block updates. Source: 11 months ago
Windows Privacy Dashboard (aka WPD), an application focused on blocking trackers and telemetry. Source: 12 months ago
You can harden Windows somewhat if god forbid you must use Windows for whatever reason. Privacy dashboard for Windows is a good start. Source: about 1 year ago
WPD has a way to block Windows updates and has a spaceship for an icon. Source: about 1 year ago
I do use WPD though to disable telemetry but I'm willing to make some exceptions. Source: about 1 year ago
Also, try https://wpd.app/ to block telemetry on Windows. Source: about 1 year ago
I use Windows Privacy Dashboard[0] to patch Windows 11 for privacy. There are many others like it, but I found this app intuitive and the ability to grab the latest telemetry block-list is great (Windows 11 introduces new and undocumented telemetry hosts all the time). I primarily use Windows 11 for gaming and for Office 365. For anything sensitive, I use various Linux distributions. I also have a spare Windows 11... - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
Here some some great privacy tools for Windows. Highly recommend. https://wpd.app/ https://www.oo-software.com/en/shutup10. Source: about 1 year ago
Yep. Personally, I prefer my riced Debian, it's miles better than Windows 10/11. But I've gotten Windows 11 to be tolerable with GlazeWM, PowerToys, and one of the Win1x privacy apps sexy/wpd/ShutUp10, or if you prefer scorched earth policy then /r/TronScript. Do note though that you should probably create a system restore point before using any of those.. Especially TronScript. Source: over 1 year ago
I've been actually using wpd.app and it's a huge time saver! I think I'm going to try LTSC 2021 instead of LTSB 2016, my PC isn't that bad after all. Source: over 1 year ago
I used "Windows 10 Privacy" tools like O&O ShutUp10, WPD and Destroy-Windows-10-Spying and now the xbox app and the microsoft store cannot connect to the internet. Also it seems that the microsoft login service websit cannot be reached systemwide. I resetted the firewall rules to default to solve this but nothing happens. I keep getting the error 0x80131500 in the microsoft store. I didnt realise that I... Source: over 1 year ago
Before doing anything else, you’re gonna want to get something like WPD. Not only does Windows telemetry violate your privacy, your PC is using precious resources tracking you and communicating back to Microsoft. There’s no way to totally disable this; Windows is, at its core, a spyware product, but WPD will get you some nice performance back by shutting off the major stuff. Source: over 1 year ago
I use wpd.app to disable all (just scroll down to see the button, but DO NOT check advanced settings) an alternative more popular is O&O ShutUp10 and I'm testing SophiApp as open source alternative. Source: over 1 year ago
If you are on Windows, on this post, I tell a user how to debloat windows with wpd.app, for me it's better than O&OShutUp10, Blackbird, Windows10Debloater, etc.. Source: over 1 year ago
Little tool that allows you to tweak privacy related stuff and also remove normally unremovable programs. Be careful though you can break stuff pretty easily lol https://wpd.app/. Source: over 1 year ago
Nah I don't go digging for random stuff I know nothing about. Just uninstalling regular preinstalled apps, disabling other stuff I'll never use is enough debloating for me. WPD did about everything I needed, along with disabling all possible telemetry. Source: over 1 year ago
WPD and ShutUp10++ are very good starting points. Source: almost 2 years ago
