Yeah, def seeing https://website.com and website.com and www.website.com, etc, being treated as "different" urls which means its a nice way to add just a little bit more load to servers. - Source: Hacker News / 2 months ago
I just tried a www.website.com test and pinged www.website.com and got no results. I then pinged website.com and received results coming back from www3.website.com. So it does matter how the redirecting resolves. Source: 5 months ago
I made a website using the seedprod editor on wordpress. I setup a URL before switching to seedprod. I am apparently forced to use a /'abcde' after .com in my URL. Going to the website using the website name ending in .com doesn't bring you to the seedprod page, it brings you to the unedited/unused original wordpress filler text/template. Is there anyway I can get it to let me just use the website.com instead of... Source: 8 months ago
I know some websites that are mobile have a m.website.com and some websites just have website.com. Source: 10 months ago
It may be more cumbersome if you’re trying to get more people than just people you directly know to visit, but there may also be a dns service to redirect a http://website.com to http://ipaddress:8090 so your IP isn’t being handed out willynilly. Source: 10 months ago
You can fix your domain name inconsistencies by doing a global find/replace - do that with a plugin called Better Search Replace e.g. https://www.website.com > https://website.com. Source: 10 months ago
You're welcome! And to reiterate, you would basically just make a fetch/ajax/axios request to /api/{your_route} to hit that endpoint. Sveltekit has its own fetch implementation so you can use relative routes without https://websitedomain.com/ etc. Source: 10 months ago
How can I set my homepage to https://website.com/home or https://website.com/main for example? How can I enable the slug after the domain as the homepage? The slug is already named home, but if I go to https://website.com/home it simply shows as https://website.com/ because it is selected as the homepage and should be without slug somewhy. Honestly you'd have to look into this yourself. I buy my hosting and my domain name, as in website.com, from a web hosting service. Then I installed Wordpress on the server, and the Woocommerce plugin for it, and voila, online shop. I can list however many products I want to, take payment via pretty much everything. There's no shipping label integration for my country, that's the same for Etsy and I think pretty... Source: 11 months ago
Does wordpress offer the following? (id love your answer because if so that will save my life haha) - use your own .com (like is it going to be website.com or more like website.wordpress.com ?) - does it let you have a shop interface the same way etsy, squarespace, etc have? Like product listings, accepting payments via paypal/cards/etc, generating shipping labels, etc? Is there any part of the sales process it... Source: 11 months ago
Https requires credentials which are not provided with just https://website.com which is why you get a 403. Also for the comment mentioning the /invalid that is a typical web page for displaying a 404 message to the user. Source: 11 months ago
We have our SF auto-detect dupe accounts by looking at the domain across all the accounts, but some companies have varying websites such as website.co versus website.com etc. So they don't get caught as a dupe. This report is (i'm hoping) a good way to fix this or at least alert me so I can proactively get rid of dupe accs. Source: 11 months ago
From what I gathered, the logo is hosted on Gmail (Gmail allows images in the signature). He's not using bit.ly. But he's linking to http://website.com and their site doesn't have an auto-redirect to https. So when it loads, it has the "not secure" alert on the address bar. Source: 11 months ago
What happens if you ping your site (Mac Terminal or Windows Command Prompt "ping website.com")? It works fine and shows the ping normally. Source: 11 months ago
Not really. Steam handled it just fine years ago by marking hyperlinks with a little hint like this Website(https://website.com) And discord already has malicious link warnings even without hyperlinking. Just keep that and inform people to not trust random links. That's the common sense, internet user thing and responsibility of any platform to do. Source: 11 months ago
I would, however, say that as things get bigger, with more endpoints, more base routes (the http://website.com//other/stuff part), FastAPI has made my life quite nice by being able to design really well organized routers across multiple different folder structures, as it also protects you against doing things that your type definitions don't allow, so you have to make sure you define return types which I think is... As far as I can tell, something somewhere is checking if the #projects ID exists somewhere on the page, and if it does, then it rewrites the link. I'm concluding this based on the fact that the links work fine on the not-home page (where there is no #projects tab group), and because if I change the links to something like https://website.com/?tab=tab1#projectstest then they show up correctly on the home page... Website.com which would include all versions listed above. You can also easily spin up different properties like mentioned above so you can only focus on the main website which in this case would be the non-www version. Source: about 1 year ago
