Just wondering if anyone else has issues loading webex.com. Both chrome and edge just loop around loading. It's strange however as it works fine if I use a google search and use a direct link like https://www.webex.com/downloads.html. Source: over 2 years ago
Go to webex.com and login. On the left side menu, choose Preferences (gear icon) and then choose Audio and Video from the tab menu. Under Audio Connection there is a section for Entry and exit tone. Make sure that is set to Beep. Source: almost 3 years ago

Is it possible to have override a user's "default browser" in Windows if an URL contains a certain domain name? We have IE, Edge & Chrome installed on each client device and we allow the user to choose their overall default browser (one of those three). I would like for IE to be used when browsing the company website and/or intranet (www.contoso.com), while I would prefer Edge to be opened if the user clicks one... Source: about 4 years ago
Cisco Webex is a long-established player in the online collaboration tools market, primarily noted for its comprehensive communication solutions including video conferencing, messaging, and webinars. Its reputation as a robust and secure platform caters well to businesses with demanding privacy requirements and large-scale meeting needs. However, public opinion reflects the nuanced trade-offs users consider when choosing Webex, particularly when juxtaposed against a backdrop of strong competitors like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and others.
One of Webex's most frequently highlighted strengths is its enterprise-level security features, making it a prime choice for organizations prioritizing data protection. The scalability of Webex is another significant advantage, supporting meetings with up to 3,000 participants without a hitch. Such scalability is crucial for businesses conducting extensive webinars, training sessions, or large virtual conferences. Furthermore, its ability to seamlessly integrate across various platformsโWindows, Mac OS X, Linux, and mobile appsโenhances its appeal as a versatile tool adaptable to diverse IT environments.
The platform's comprehensive feature set encompasses instant messaging, video and audio conferencing, integrated web conferencing, and robust screen-sharing capabilities. These features collectively foster effective collaboration, making Webex a go-to solution for companies with global workforces that necessitate seamless remote interaction.
Despite its strengths, Webex faces criticisms primarily centered around its pricing structure and competitive positioning. As one of the more premium-priced options, with plans starting at $24 per user per month, Webex can strain budgets for startups and small to medium-sized enterprises seeking cost-effective solutions, especially when compared to lower-priced alternatives with similar functionality.
Additionally, user experience reviews imply mixed feedback on its user interface and operational easeโsuggesting that, despite its sophisticated capabilities, Webex may present a steeper learning curve compared to more intuitive platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams. User feedback also indicates occasional technical issues such as website loading glitches and overly loud notifications, areas that detract from an otherwise smooth user experience.
Another point of contention comes from evaluative comparisons discussed in articles concerning webinar solutions. While Webex maintains its status as a traditional and reliable tool, the evolving landscape of digital conferencing has led many to explore more innovative or cost-effective alternatives. For example, in user review aggregators like G2, Webex scores a modest 4.3 out of 5, leaving room for improvement when gauged against top alternatives that often boast higher user satisfaction ratings.
In summary, Cisco Webex remains a cornerstone in the communication tools industry primarily due to its robust security and scalability. It appeals particularly to entities with specific privacy considerations or that require hosting large virtual gatherings. However, the evolution of digital meeting tools and increasing emphasis on user-friendly and economical options has prompted some users to seek alternatives. While Webex continues evolving to meet user demands, its higher cost and occasional usability concerns suggest a potential need for further refinement to maintain competitive standing, particularly within the mid-market and smaller-scale business segments.
