I see people on this subreddit talking about figuring out the day before which city to drive to based on cloud coverage, but I'm confused how that works. Are the weather predictions for different nearby cities that accurate that you will know which cities will be cloudy vs. clear? Do you all plan on just checking weather.com for each nearby city and going to the place with the least clouds? Source: over 2 years ago
There are quite a few modules that use OpenWeatherMap that look great but the accuracy of OpenWeatherMap.org is WAY off for my location it seems. Compared to multiple other sources (accuweather, weather.com, weather.gov, etc.) some of the forecast temps are over 10 degrees off. For instance, 10/29 has a high of 79 which is maybe a few degrees high but the low is 59 which is at least 10 degrees off from EVERY other... Source: almost 3 years ago

I was going to suggest that you could just turn off the TV and make a visit to weather.com, but then I realized, they're probably pushing the climate change hoax, too! Lol! Source: about 3 years ago
I'm in a similar boat as you (oily skin, work indoors, no direct exposure). I don't wear sunscreen in those situations either, but what I find really helpful is to look up the UV index each day on a weather forecast site. I use weather.com but there are lots of others that include UV index. If I'll be exposed during hours with an index of 4 and above, I make sure to put on sunscreen. Source: about 3 years ago

Public Opinion Analysis on Weather.com
Weather.com, a major player in the realm of meteorological services, is frequently cited for its rich data offerings and reliable forecasts. It competes robustly alongside platforms such as AccuWeather, Windy, and Weather Underground, carving out a significant niche in both the web app and mobile weather applications ecosystem.
Numerous discussions across various platforms indicate mixed yet largely positive public perceptions of Weather.com's services. Generally, users appreciate the comprehensive nature of the data offered, with the site providing detailed information ranging from local temperatures to extended forecasts and interactive maps. Its meteorological data presentation, enhanced by Doppler radar visuals, contributes to its reputation as a dependable source for weather updates. The extended 10-day forecast capability is frequently appreciated, allowing individuals to plan ahead with greater confidence.
The Weather Channel app, commonly referred to under the Weather.com umbrella, stands out for its customizable alerts system. Users can tailor the notifications according to their preferences, receiving only pertinent updates. This feature is frequently highlighted as beneficial, allowing users to bypass unnecessary information.
However, it's not without its drawbacks. Some users report usability issues, particularly with the app's performance, stating that it can become cumbersome or difficult to use. There are also occasional concerns regarding the website's performance stability, with additional reports of difficulties accessing certain interactive features or persisting advertisement problems, especially in its free version.
Despite these challenges, for location-specific weather data, the platform remains widely trusted. It appears to command credibility in accuracy, being regularly compared favorably against other weather forecasting services. Public anecdotes indicate that its forecasts align closely with other reputable sources like Weather.gov, particularly in predicting severe weather changes or events. This accuracy contributes significantly to user trust.
The site is also referenced in professional contexts such as web scraping tutorials, showcasing its data as a practical source for illustrative purposes in technology articles. Additionally, due to its comprehensive geographical coverage, users planning travel or outdoor activities frequently consult it to ascertain the best routes or timeframes, underscoring its utility in planning logistics.
Notably, there's an ongoing dialogue regarding its role in presenting climate change information. Some users perceive a tilt in its reporting towards mainstream climate discourse, sparking subjective interpretations among particular groups skeptical of climate science narratives.
In conclusion, Weather.com is largely valued for its extensive weather data and predictive accuracy, maintaining a strong standing among its competitors. While there are some performance-related criticisms, its detailed forecast offerings and customizable alerts contribute greatly to its continued popularity among users seeking reliable weather information.
